Since the beta, WHEN I get Minecraft up and running (another issue all together) I get no sound, AND this:
It seems the grass texture is missing. Nothing but black on black. Any thoughts, suggestions?

restarted the client program.
redownloaded the latest client.
redownloaded the latest server. (yes i host a server as well)
tried connecting to multiplayer server. (i connected fine but same grass problem)
loaded different single player worlds.
I also asked a friend to test their minecraft on their computer and their grass is normal looking.
I also tried loading a texture pack (painterly pack) and it has black grass as well.
That fixed it instantly after the game client updated at login.
I closed minecraft.
I am running WinXP.
I browsed to C:\Documents and Settings\aaa\Application Data\.minecraft
and renamed my bin folder to zzzbin.
Then I restarted minecraft and logged in.
The update download fixed it.
I tested minecraft then trashed the zzzbin backup folder.

Ahhh!

Delete the bin folder, then start minecraft
The original files will re-download themselves, hopefully fixing the problem
