Hello, when starting the game I get the error "Loadlibrary failed with error 193: %1 is not a valid Win32 application". Previously, I was getting loadlibrary error 998 until I had uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I would appreciate any help getting the game to work again.
When Windows starts a service, it parses the path of the service from left to right. If both of the following conditions are true, Windows may locate and try to run the file or folder before it locates and runs the executable file for the service:
The path of a service’s executable file contains spaces.
There is a file or folder on your computer’s hard disk that has the same name as a file or folder in the path to the service's executable file.
For example, if the path of the executable file for a service is C:\Program Files\MyProgram\MyService.exe, and if a folder that is named C:\Program also exists on your hard disk, Windows locates the C:\Program folder on your hard disk before the C:\Program Files\MyProgram\My Service.exe file, and then tries to run it.
Is this on windows, mac or linux? What steps did you actually use to uninstall/reinstall the game, was it simply redownloading the exe launcher or did you replace the entire appdata folders (not just jar)?
Ah this was kind of an old thread, I do recall since then a few cases where a "path error" occured when a player had a windows login with a nonstandard character, such as
C:\Users\myname!\
and the exclamation point meant that windows couldn't find the java installation. If your windows login might have something like that, try creating a test login account for windows (Control Panel\User Accounts) and see if creating a login without any odd characters helps.
I assume since this is a brand new try at Minecraft, that there are no playermade mods?
It might also be some quirky issue with using a 64-bit version of java, do you have a 32-bit browser that you can test with at java.com to see if you also have a 32-bit java version? )I think I have both on mine)
