Sorry friends, search bar didn't help neither did the FAQ, but I have to know, where are the save files? I want to get my world 2 from my mac to my brand spankin' new PC with epic GPU. How would I go about doing this?
Also, do the files readily open across the OS's?

So you say 1.4 is fail because you don't know how to update your server? WTF
Thats like saying all cars fail because you don't know how to put gas in them.

It is also useful to know that it is a hidden folder, you can view hidden folders by
going into My Computer, then at the top is "Tools", then "Folder Options"
then in the popup, go to View then "Hidden files and Folders"

Your friendly neighborhood dragon. Don't be scared, I won't bite!
I am here for you, Don't be afraid to send me a message.
Too bad mac doesn't have "C" drive. Its called HDD I hope you know that.
The key phrase was "from my mac" not from my PC, I hope people read carefully next time.

Thank you so much Dthen! Now its just going to have to be hope that it works cross platform. I hadn't seen the answer yet 251. Its insulting to say that before I even read the most recent answer. I don't thank people who are wrong though if that is what you wanted.

i can't find my minecraft saves anywhere even in application support, im trying to install skylands
Are you using Mac? If so I have no idea, never used a mac.
But if you're using Windows XP or Vista, then you can also try looking under "C:/Documents and Settings/<name>/Application Data/.minecraft" (or something very close to that).
You know I've tried even copying and pasting the command line into Spotlight, and I can't find my save files anywhere :sad.gif: Any other directories they might be saved under?
What version are you on, because I found it in OS X Leopard. Snow leopard might be different, Tiger will be different. In Leopard, Its @ iMac HD>Users>You>Library>Application Support>minecraft>saves

I CANT FIND MY GOD DAMN FIELS EITHER. im on windows seven, how do u find them and how do u see hidden files.. this is pissing me off.. been trying for 3 days
For anyone else who is having problems, i found my files in.
User> AppData> ROAMING> minecraft.
The key word is roaming... (Windows 7)
This was a god send. The other stuff really doesn't work for window seven, we don't have and Application Data folder or a Library folder. AppData (which IS hidden) then Roaming then .minecraft (the period is also important).
You're sure it's not in either:
/Users/Your User Name Here/Library/Application Data/minecraft/
or
/Users/Your User Name Here/Library/Application Support/minecraft/
Are you sure they don't exist?
thank you to Dthen it would seem every where ive gone to get help finding my mac saves forgot to mention the username part
