Note that this may not work for all but it works on my XP Dell Inspiron 1300 Laptop with a Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express graphics card (crappy, I know).
*Download latest Minecraft client if not already present
*Rename the downloaded Minecraft.exe to Minecraft.jar
*Open a command prompt (go to start, all programs, accessories, command promt) and type the following command : java -Xmx800m -jar "C:\Documents and Settings\Brandon\Desktop\Minecraft.jar"
(RENAME THE PART IN QUOTES TO WHATEVER DIRECTORY YOUR MINECRAFT.JAR IS IN)
*Should open up Minecraft with no problems :smile.gif:
Credit to darknesschaos. After you do that you can open Notepad and put the command that worked for you in that and save as MinecraftStarter.bat and you can double click that to play minecraft, it will start it up with those commands for you.
If this works for you please post your graphics card and system specs so we know better who this helps.
***UPDATE: THIS FIX SEEMS TO ONLY HELP INTEL MOBILE INTEGRATED CARDS USED IN LAPTOPS.
when i type it in it gives me this
specified command search directory bad
too many parameters
too many parameters
too many parameters
too many parameters
I am using a Compaq V2000 with onboard graphics.
My graphics driver is : Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family
I am running Windows XP, Service Pack 3
As another note, you don't need to keep typing that into the console to start minecraft.
What you do is open notepad and put the command that worked for you in the first line, and save as MinecraftStarter.bat and you can double click that to play minecraft, it will start it up with those commands for you.

Qweesdy - Did you get your nice shiny black piece of coal while shovelling gravel?
Hey, I found a way to get it to run with the 910 gl intergrated. It might work for others.
Instead of putting "command : java -Xmx800m -jar "C:\Documents and Settings\user\Desktop\Minecraft.jar"
Put "command : java -Xmx800m -jar "C:\Documents and Settings\user\Desktop\Minecraft.jar.exe"
Worked for me. I'm running Windows XP btw.
Good luck!

Worked. i also dropped my fog to minimum visibility, i have a feeling this has to do with the server bombarding you with millions of packets.
When I tried this I got a big fat error message
Anyone know why? I'm running Vista on an XP-made Inspiron 2200 with the 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Chipset Family.

I have a Dell Latitude D610 laptop with the same graphics chip and Windows XP. I am running minecraft.jar.exe from my desktop with the Minecraftstarter.bat file. I still end up at the error page.
Ok, now the command prompt says:
C> "command : -java Xmx800m -jar "C:\Users\Jack\Downloads\Minecraft.jar"
'COMMAND' isn't recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
I also tried it with the extension "Minecraft.jar.exe" where I got:
Specified COMMAND search directory bad
Too many parameters
Too many parameters
Too many parameters
Too many parameters
and "Minecraft.exe", where I got the first error message (I have a copy of all 3)
I'm starting to hate my computer. Assistance?

Make sure that your file is Minecraft.jar and not Minecraft.jar.exe. Windows thinks that it's an exe called Minecraft.jar, and you want it to think it's a jar file so that Java can run it. To fix this, go into the command prompt and type "rename Minecraft.exe Minecraft.jar" in the directory in which you have Minecraft.exe. Then you can run your batch file like normal.
I got this message again when I renamed and attempted Minecraft.jar-

Just FYI, this other post that I had found earlier on this forum - http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=31310 - DID NOT WORK FOR ME.
My Windows would not even start up and I had to reboot in safe mode.
