When i try to open the browser version of minecraft, it crashes mozilla and just puts me back to the desktop. i dont get an error message or anything, it just crashes. So i tried to use the .exe version, but it also does not work, both versions, and it just doesnt do anything after i try to double click it. not even an error or even an application. it doesnt even open. i deleted my bin files etc so i dont understand whats wrong. i also installed java recently. help!
I have the same problem, and have seen on other posts that uninstalling Java, then running ccleaner, then installing Java again has fixxed this for a lot of people.
i think i have the same problem... i use IE and when i open the in browser version, the gamescreen goes white. when i try the offline clients the screen goes black after login... an answer from support would be great :smile.gif:
Worked for me.
I updated CCleaner, used the uninstaller to ditch Java 6 update 21.
Went using IE to download Java 6 update 21... And now I can run it and log in.
Cannot wait to get home.
Hello-- new to the forums and unfortunately it has to be a bump to a problem which I am having quite the problem with. Same problem, synapsis: Works in Google Chrome fine, however when ATTEMPTING to use the desktop app it does not open any window, however my system gets severely bogged down as if it is trying to allocate memory or open a heavy duty program...
Here is what I have tried:
Manually uninstalling/reinstalling Java (verifying there is no prior versions)
Same for Minecraft
Cleaned my PC
Gave up and went back to Google Chrome.
haha, quite intolerable... but I am coping. The desktop application would be much more efficient and having the BIG window would be nice.
BUMP-- please, someone elaborate a healthy fix to this issue!
Try downloading the .jar file.
Then, put it in C:\Minecraft\minecraft.jar (you will have to make this folder).
Next create a new Notepad file, and paste this into it:java -Xms650m -jar "C:\Minecraft\minecraft.jar"
Save this file as a batch file (.bat).
Open the batch file.
If this doesn't work, try changing minecraft.exe or .jar to compatibility mode and try again.
I just started having the problems i always play in browser but now when i go into www.minecraft.net/play all i get is a white screen help soon would be nice
