Damn it, I spoke too soon... I came to try and play again today and the same Java error. I guess I need a permanent work around again, sigh. I'm currently using the batch file code and the .jar file to at least start it, but such small memory limits are no fun, as it creates horrible pop up in the distance now! Please, PLEASE someone find the actual cause of this issue for us all, so we can one day hope for a solution!
I have the virtual machine error as well. It doesnt work as the .exe file, but it works in the browser. Personally, I'd be fine with it if I wasn't running it on a laptop, and running it thru the browser doesn't help the game speed...
No problem. All right, so download Minecraft.jar and place it in a folder like C:\Minecraft. Now, open up the command prompt by going to the Start menu, clicking the Run item, and typing "cmd" (without quotes) in the box. In the command prompt, navigate to the Minecraft folder by typing
The command prompt window will show some text and the Minecraft game window should show up. This is what worked for me, but there's no guarantee it'll work for everyone. Kandelon, for example, seems to have tried the same thing but crashed after the login screen. It's worth a try, at least.
worked.Butin version1.2.6,one of the first. HowI canupdate it?
I have the same Java virtual machine error, but nothing anywhere, not even here, works! D:
When I tried the coding for Minecraft.jar in Command Prompt, it said " 'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program, or batch file. "
Heellllppp! D: (btw I run Windows 7 on a fast desktop computer with over 75% of the memory ready to use. It's very new, and is way better than my old laptop, which could run Minecraft fine.
O.K. I found a loop hole to play minecraft. if you go to this link http://www.technicpack.net/tekkit/ it will bring you to technic pack. download the pack. Then go onto the launcher. The java thing shouldn't come up. then click on the picture that has technic on it. scroll down and you will find Vanilla at the bottom. This is regular minecraft. The exact same as plain minecraft no difference.
