I once searching for Vista ( I have it now) and I remember seeing a sight that said that I could Update all my drivers. I didn't have minecraft then. I will search for it and help you all!
Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

Hi all,
Iam pleased to say that i have discovered the bad driver fix for minecraft on all PC/windows machines only at the moment. This fix will allow for you to update the video card driver. The major problem that is seen in all machines that are brought from the stores (many of the major issues with the computers and not being able to update is that the manufactures of the machines put locks on the actual default driver (i.e. the driver that is active at the unboxing) 9 times out of ten the manufactures lock disables update and it causes the widows message “widows has determined that this driver is up to date” ) however i have discovered a fix for this lock and i have discovered the way of fixing this error and this can also be applied to updating other drivers that refuse to update.
This will help fix the issues and this is a manual driver update. (Also nine times out of ten it is not a java issue or an openGL issue as all driver updates from the big companies like Intel now have openGL as a part of the update.)
You are going to need a few things before you can attempt this there are a few things that you will need to have downloaded first they are not massive downloads but they are needed neither the less. Download yourself a copy of WINRAR this is critical (please ensure it is the right one i.e. if you run 32 bit or 64bit needs to be right ). You will also need to get the LATEST UPDATE FOR YOUR GRAPHICS CARD. (This can be done by a simple Google of your card to the manufactures website then just download the latest one because your computer will tell you when you try to update via device manager like i said before there is quite possibly a lock on the driver). Once downloaded you are right to start i also suggest that you make a folder on your desktop (make the job a hell of a lot easier believe me)
1) After having downloaded your driver and WINRAR (and installed winrar ) and the creation of a folder on the desktop , left click on the driver exe and unzip the contents to that newly created folder. You will see why i have asked you to do this because by doing this you are telling the driver to update manually.
2) Once this is done extracting click on start and right click on “my computer “ then click properties and open up device manager. (note all OS of windows is different just get device manager open)
3) Once this page/window is open locate your display adapter right click then select properties. Then once this window opens click on update driver. (Now the next step depending on your version of widows will vary, it is easier to do it on vista and 7; xp will look through the folder that you select.)
4) Neither the less though the way of doing it is pretty much the same. Once the update driver screen appears DO NOT ALLOW YOUR COMPUTER TO SEARCH AT ALL. Simply click on “browse my computer for driver software” then click on “let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer “(this page may take a little bit to load).
5) Once this screen has loaded (this will be the same for all forms of windows click “have disk” another screen will appear when this does Click “browse “. Now locate the area where the folder that you created in step one. You are looking for a file that ends in “.inf” there should only be the one in that folder if not search for it there is only the one of these file types. Once you have done this click open then okay and it will start to install the driver now to the update. (xp users you just have to click on the folder on the desk top widows will snuff it out )
6) Restart your computer and reboot, once this is done minecraft will open and be play able. (Please note please make sure that you have JAVA its logic).
Further more you are to do this at your own risk and i am not responsible for anything that goes wrong. However i would rate this as a easy job (and on a further note this method of driver updating can be done with other devices, i.e. sound, mouse, system... you know what i am getting at) i have tested this on 10 computers all with integrated graphics all that didn’t work at all with minecraft and out of the 10 all 10 can play it. Please enjoy boys and girls.
If there are any issues please contact me.

Guys I had the same exact problem when I did a clean install for windows, this is what i did. Go to start menu then control panel then to hardware and sound then hit manage devices. A program will load if you have administrative rights. Then go to display adapters, right click update driver software then hit search automatically. If it says your graphics card is up to date and minecraft still crashes google your exact graphics card and find a manuel update for it. I have a ATI Radeon and I installed AMD vision engine control center and it works now.
It is not working!! and this is what it says SOMEONE PLZ HELP ME!!
