I was having a little bit of trouble playing yesterday, so I updated java and everything started to work. Just, there was no sound whatsoever even though the sound in game was turned on, and my computer was not muted, and sound would work for other applications. Also, there as a bit of a problem with shadowing regarding dropped blocks, such as anything gained through mining or etc. before they were picked up, the squares they rested on would be covered in weird shadow-like circles. However, the overall playability of the game was unaffected.
Today though, when I went to load minecraft in the browser, there was just a white screen for a few seconds then this error popped up.
Minecraft has crashed!
Minecraft has stopped running because it encountered a problem.

Now I'm using an apple, and the java is up to date, and I have absolutely no clue about graphics drivers. I just know that absolutely nothing has changed from yesterday up to this point regarding my system other than the wireless internet going down for a short period.
I've tried both using Safari (the default web browser, which is the one it worked in yesterday) and Google Chrome (which it did not work in yesterday) and currently, both just show a white box, no matter how many times I reload the page, no error message, nothing.
Once again, nothing has changed from yesterday such as java or drivers, and I have checked and there are no software updates available for the computer.
The game allows me on intermittently, but occasionally crashes out, resulting in the game just freezing. If I try to move or exit the browser, it becomes completely pixelated resulting in my computer seizing up. I've tried restarting my computer, and the result is the same. I've also reset the internet browser but I'm not sure how to go about emptying the temp files or anything along those lines due to the computer being a mac.
If there is anyone familiar with macs or their combination with this error, I'd appreciate your help.
Can anybody help? I've found that after a fresh restart, minecraft will work for a bit, but will then stutter to a stop and force my computer to become completely unresponsive. I mean, it's great and all that it will work, but even when it does, there is absolutely no sound. This is kind of disheartening because it makes the game relatively impossible to play on any difficulty but peaceful and also intensely boring. Please can somebody out there give me assistance, or at least point me in the direction I should search for help?
Nope, I'm pretty sure you're right about the overheating. It's an iMac, and other than that, I can tell you just about nothing. It's been pretty hot here lately, and the computer has also been getting hot to the touch, the hard drive and etc are averaging 40+ degrees, with the GPU and power supplies topping out at 60 celcuis. The ambient temp is about what the room temp is, around 31 degrees. I don't know if this is excessive, because I don't know what should be the norm, and I'm getting these amounts from the iStat widget. There's fans inside the computer, but they don't sound like they are working too hard, as there is little to no noise coming from the machine.
one think you could try is extra cooling.
For a laptop this means some laptop stand with cooling.
You make your own or buy it pre-made.
your own has as advantage that you can aim the fans at locations where it is needed.
Well, I found out that the internal fan was actually not working. I went to the Apple website and have since reset my SMU, and now the fan well, seems to be working, it certainly is louder. I've yet to put minecraft through it's paces, but my one query is wether or not the sound will work.
Notch said he will stop developing for mac and IOS and anything that is not microsoft like (android...)
So i also have this problem but i have a windows computer which is okay for me not to play it on a mac.
My problem is, when i download the .zip file from the web, when i open it it tells me its damaged, move to trash?
And when i go on the in browser, it tells me always trust mark person to enter your computer? i say yes, than it doesnt want java to access my browser, which totally sucks, you know its 2012 which means i have the minecraft 1.3.2 version, not alpha.
So please if anyone has a solution tell it to me,thank you ;D
