I'm wondering about what is going on with mojang. I own a server (Adress will not be known) that is running the latest Craftbukkit (Development Build 1.7.2 RO.1) and it seems that Mojang is already coming out with a new version (1.7.3). After how long it took for 1.7.2 CB I am afraid that I will not be a ble to play on my server again for another 2 months. If anyone knows if it is compatible with 1.7.2 I would like to know. It is coming out this week if anyone wanted to know so you may have to lose your Bukkit plugins sadly. Any info you may have about it would be appreciated.
1.7.3 looks like it'll be a client side update with no changes affecting server compatibility. only reason it took bukkit so long to update to 1.7.2 is because mojang implemented a lot of behind the scenes multiplayer changes that bukkit had to adapt
But if 1.7.3 does effect server and is not compatible with 1.7.2 server and if u have to update like from 1.6.4 to 1.7.2 to 1.7.3 u will have to upgrade or not play on your server
But with every client comes a server version and most of them are not compatible

The reason they took so long to update Bukkit was because there were so many changes to the network code. It won't take as long for 1.7.3 because they've already worked their way around 1.7.2's network code changes.

To all of you people who think Notch is still working on the game, he stopped working on Minecraft in late 2011. Get your facts straight and stop spamming his twitter about Minecraft updates.
To make things a bit easier to understand, 1.7 rewrote a lot of core functions of the game that Bukkit relied on. Just trying to figure out what changed and what didn't probably took a lot of time, but now that Bukkit is set up to work with the new core functions, updates shouldn't take that long unless they rewrite more core functions, which won't happen until 1.8 at the earliest.
Yes but it still may take a bit even if its not rewriting the code of minecraft because it still has all the brodcasting and new twitch stuff and the 1.7.2 is still development and dosent even have /summon workingoh now announced its not 1.7.3 its 1.7.4 instead but it makes no difference on bukkit development progress weather its .3 or .4

You think magic isn't real? Consider this: for every person, there is a sentence -- a series of words -- which has the power to destroy them.
