So yeah what are your three least favorite biomes from 1.7 (also accounts for minor changes to past biomes)? Here are mine :
1. Ocean - Because of the ocean floor being composed of only gravel
2. Ice Spike (?) - Really does not seem like a good place to build..... It would be nice if ice spikes were in caves under places with snow/ice. I guess if they are as rare as they say they aren't too bad.
Ice spikes are pretty cool for building too actually, you can have platforms wrapping around the spires, use the spire as a centre for towers, even use them as turrets in a giant ice castle. Plus snow is nice.
EDIT : 2. Birch Forests - It would look WAY better with snow ( along with things like ponds of ice ). Maybe have a birch forest variation with snow in it.
3.Flower forest - I just don't think that biome is so good.... feels cluttered. The idea of a forest having flowers has potential but I think the regular trees and the pretty flowers clash with each other. Making the terrain in that biome seem more mystical/mysterious along with unique shaped trees would be nice would be nice.
They have an overlay for the grass colour there which is hardcoded and makes the place so dang ugly. Also the trees kinda suck too. Wasn't it supposed to be dangerous as well? The only danger I can see is eyebleed from the hideous grass colour.

Mushroom Islands - Pretty much almost nothing special about these biomes now. Mycelium now shares the same properties with the new block "Podzol" found in Mega Taigas, and naturally spawning giant mushrooms can now also be found in Roofed Forests. This only leaves two unique features in the biome now (Mooshrooms, and the fact that monsters can only spawn in the biome via player-forced spawns or a monster spawner), and one semi-unique feature (Mycelium, now only unique in it's appearance).
Flower Forest - Pretty much the same reasons as the OP stated. Unique-shaped trees, cherry trees, and maybe grass with a blue-tone might improve this biome in my eyes.
Birch Forest - Birch Trees are just fugly in my opinion.
1. Oceans: Main reason would be the monotone floor of gravel. I actually liked those splotches as people called them sometimes. Makes it more creative for me when I mine clay out and then attempt building something to shape with the land. If mined out, it becomes part of that land. Inspiration from my own actions. Makes no reason to visit, and unsettling to even attempt building anything underwater. They could be a bit bigger that I don't mind, but I actually like the size. I am one more for land surrounding water than what earth is today. A balance needs to be struck somewhere.
2. plains & savannahs. Flat land basically, this is not including the Mountain or hilly variant. The main reason i don't like this as much as the other as every map I load is 75% this. Granted that is an exaggeration, however it seems like as if Large biomes was checked when it obviously was not. Bad enough some are pretty rare. I am not saying they should be small, just right now those seem too big and make for a boring or not so inspiring place for myself to build or live in. I prefer seeing a mix of biomes of varying size. but when all of them are vast as what I have seen...><
3. snow plains (don't know the actual name, thinking tundra) This one for me I just am not happy to see endless snow. But that is just a preference. I actually like spruce, but that does not grow in this, so it defaults to what #2 is, maybe worse if wasn't for the fact I see more of #2 than any snow or hot biome at all. There really isn't much for me to work with on these, that and I don't really enjoy the vastness of it as it appears.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
1. Oceans. I love how small they have become. But they really are useless wastes of space.
2. Plains. I like that they offer villages and horses, but Savannahs do that, too, and their terrain (including trees) is much more interesting.
3. Deserts. They have temples and villages, which are good. But they are waaaay too big and expansive. A minor adjustment in their size - or an increased likelihood of Mesas in them - would change my opinion of them.

Ah roofed forests would be one of the closer dislikes too :P.

Oh god I forgot about cherry trees, hmm yes birch forests.... screw ice spikes that biome has been justified.

Still, it's a bad place to build a city or something.

I'd prefer my birch forests with snow if the snow actually covered the area under the canopies.
3) Mesas. Really ugly (especially with trees) but at least it's a good source of clay.
2) Altered EH. Ugly as well, very rarely does the stone end up looking good.
1) Altered swamp. I hated them before, and I still hate them. Sure, they contain my favorite flower, but beyond than they're just abominable regarding grass color and don't look like swamps.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?
Still, it's a bad place to build a city or something.
Always plenty of space AROUND the ice spikes to build though as they always seem to be in the middle of normal snow biomes. Could make a nice centrepoint for a city or something as well!
Mesa is the only one that's a "least favorite", and only because I cannot find the damn things. I've seen every other biome except them. >_> Really though, I like all of what's been presented so far, especially the roofed forest....just wish the "roof" was a little higher.
Edit: I take that back, yeah oceans still suck. Needs seaweed and other ocean bottom life to spruce it up, along with visible fish..it's a ocean ffs. less gravel too. I do like how dark it is though, definitely scares me away from diving. Course I like scary stuff. XD
Amped terrain wouldn't be bad if it wasn't such a high chance for having such structures. They are cool to see, but having them everywhere both robs the cool factor off seeing it, and makes minecraft life impractical.
1. Ice Spikes too damn unrealistic and ugly.
2. Cliffs. They look like they just replaced the dirt with stone.
3. Birch Forest. Looks too repetitive. If higher birches were added along with more colour variation, I wold love it.
1. Oceans- Just because of gravel aren't separating continents anymore.
2. Savanna- I mean wow, do I need another plain biome but this time it has trees? Also it has jungle wood my least favorite of the woods.
3. Mountains- They crapped on them with the "Snow Peaks" Now everything is ugly.

Amplified is a World Gen option and NOT a Biome, so how could you dislike it?
Well technically amplified world gen option does change all biomes so I will allow it. I mean I would not like the survival server I play on to be regened on amplified..... no more flatish land XD

The biome I love in 1.7 is Mesa,Mega Taiga and Roofed Forest.Had to add my dislikes, new ocean floor too boring and filled with gravel which is not useful to build something
1. Ocean - Because of the ocean floor being composed of only gravel
2. Ice Spike (?) - Really does not seem like a good place to build..... It would be nice if ice spikes were in caves under places with snow/ice. I guess if they are as rare as they say they aren't too bad. This person changed by opinion

Please no opinion bashing.
2. Roofed forests- The trees are terrible. Could be due to the fact that every picture I've seen them is in fast graphics, though.
3. Amplified biomes- There, I said it. It seems like it's made for the people who think walking around looking at mountains is playing minecraft.
They have an overlay for the grass colour there which is hardcoded and makes the place so dang ugly. Also the trees kinda suck too. Wasn't it supposed to be dangerous as well? The only danger I can see is eyebleed from the hideous grass colour.

Hmm you make a good point with ice spikes XD.
Oh god I forgot about cherry trees, hmm yes birch forests.... screw ice spikes that biome has been justified.
Depends on your tastes, purpose, and ability; I know you're more of a modern builder so yeah it's not such a good place.
There is potential though for and epic town on a towny server or something of that nature.
I'm not such a good winter builder so I probably won't be building in that biome... Come to think of it I haven't even built much at all

There is a birch variation that has super tall birches but wouldn't a biome full of super tall birches be repetitive too? D:

Nothing to see here~
