Totally not a Bioshock Infinite reference as the title. Nope.
So... we've got our 16 dyes which, as of late, now translate to:
- 16 colors of Sheep,
- Subsequently, 16 colors of Wool;
- Some absolutely obscene potential number of Dyed Leather Armor,
- 16 Dyed Wolf Collars,
- 16 (18 technically if you count Regular and Hardened) colors of Clay Blocks,
- 16 colors of dyed Carpets,
- And now, we have 16 (17 technically, counting the normal glass) colors of Glass and Glass Panes.
So, what's gonna be next on the dyeing bandwagon, if anything? Beds? Plant Pots? Saddles? Bricks (at least then they'd be pretty)? Wood?
Wood seems likely since people seem keen on it, and Dinnerbone has obviously, per the above link, toyed with the idea. The others seem likely to me, since it seems like an obvious choice for the next dye-able things.
But, essentially, speculation: do you think we'll be seeing more things to dye in the near future; and if so, what? As well as; do you want to see more dyed things at all?
Personally, I think we'll be seeing more soon, as we've had a serious influx of dyed content lately.
Looks like even including the new flowers, I'm gonna need a more plentiful supply of dyes.
Cool.
The flowers definitely help things along. Flower-covered plains/other biomes are now going to become a bit more of a commodity, since the basic Red 'n' Yellow isn't used too much on its own. Now we have a much wider variety of dyes we can now get by just mowing down a field of flowers. Come 1.7, I'm pretty much going to be a Rabbit, and my world is going to be Australia.*

I'm actually kinda surprised they didn't dye sand, and then smelt that into stained glass. Given they already added red sand.
More things to dye: Maybe Smooth Stone? although that follows a pretty similar texture to Hardened Clay so wouldn't add much.
Pumpkins? For lols?
Along with wood, I'd hope you'd add stairs and slabs, although that's a lot of values to add.

Yeah, I thought they would have done that, since it also adds all the colored sands. Maybe they'll change it to that in a later snapshot or update. Who knows.

The suggestion of colored glass came bundled with the possibility of colored sand from this thread
If anything, it should be beds as the next dyable thing. Nothing else in the game really seems like it would look good dyed, except for wood, but clearly that idea has been taken off the table.
By the way, I got the Bioshock Infinite reference in the title
I absolutely want different colored beds. Red just doesn't fit with all of my builds, and texture packs don't always help because I find that I want different colored beds in differently themed rooms/buildings.

Well, I doubt that's the only thread suggesting colored glass, let alone MCF being the only place people are asking for it. It's been a long time coming, and hopefully with red sand added, Mojang will see more colored sand desires.
Coloured beds, stat! It would be cool if they're colour could be super customizable. For example, the block of wool on the left of the grid would determine the colour of the cushion, while the other blocks of wool would determine the blanket. If two colours are used, the blanket will be striped with those colours. It would add tonnes of variety! Imagine a bed with a red cushion and green and white stripes on the blanket! It would also add progression to the game. At first, you start with a boring white bed (unless there were multi-coloured sheep around), but as you progress more dyes willm be available to customize your beds!
Also, I think the invention of paint would be better than dying wood or stone. Paint would make more sense. It would also be harder to collect, therefore adding progression to the game.
Also, does anybody else reckon dyes should be expanded on more? You can combine dyes into unique colours on leather clothing...why can't that be done with any dyeable items in the game?! I'd love to have wool blocks, hardened clay and glass with tonnes of different, unique colours. It would also make bed even more unique from the last! No more dyes need to added, but they can just be combined and experimented with to give the item a unique colour.

I'm still just waiting for varying-wood-related stuff. Maybe a Birch Diamond Pickaxe. Or a bed with jungle planks. Pine doors. Various colors of tripwire trigger. Just full on, every-wood-based-item, 4 color support.
But, that's really a far off dream since Mojang is Mojang, so I'll stick with just colored beds and such. :D
Beds.
Also, half slabs and stairs of hardened clay.
Wood would also be nice, but I'd prefer if it didn't. It just feels really mod-like, just like horses.
Not a big fan of the idea of dyed wood. I mean, I could see some cool things being made, and then 5x that being absolutely hideous buildings.
I would love dyed beds, though. Be cool if there was a small chance to get a bed with a special bedsheet for each color, like a creeper face if you dye it green, pig face if you dye it pink, etc.

Horses stopped feeling mod-ish for me, like, 2 months ago.
Agree about wood, though. People would whine about how it makes vanilla feel so modded, but then a few weeks after the update's release then people would forget about it entirely.
Colored wood was considered during the development of Minecraft 1.6. When Dinnerbone asked people about it, he ditched the idea because he received a lot of negative comments. Later we got colored clay and carpets. It's still shame though... ...I want my wood colored...
Huh. If you look at the tweet in which he put out the colored wood idea (link in OP), there's not many negative responses. I assumed when he said "Okay, okay, no colored wood." he was being sarcastic in response to the what-looked-like large amount of positive comments. Oh well.
