Well for people who don't know what this is, in the 36b snapshot (not the 'b' at the end there) if you go into the settings and then click the 'super secret settings' button, it will randomly play noises of various things including mobs, movement sounds, death sounds, etc.
Thing is though, they're much higher quality than the current in-game minecraft sounds.
Anywho, I think they're new sounds that C418 was working on and will be added in the near future, possibly in the 1.7 update. They're similar to the current ones but MUCH higher quality. He might have tried out some of the resource packs that had better sounds than the default minecraft ones and then decided to revamp them.
I could swear I heard something that sounds like a parrot, it played twice when I was messing with this button... I can't think of any existing mob that would make such a noise.
All the sounds that play from the Super Secret button are sounds currently in Minecraft, but slowed down. There's nothing new there at the moment, so don't think all the strange things are indicators of anything but Dinnerbone trolling at this point.

This. There are no new files added to the sounds folders upon downloading 13w36a or b.
But why play random sounds? Is there some new sound-related setting coming soon? I'm quite curious!

Might be new mobs to fit the new biomes. Lions would be sweeeet in savannas!

Oh, yeah. Tons of new mob noises. I'll list everything I hear (I like lists):

No new sounds were added, it's just the normal sounds with a lower pitch and are slowed down. Don't count on there being new mobs.
Yep. Just slowed down sounds.
