I wonder if Kholdstare is being surgically removed from his desk?
OT: Are we getting a snapshot today? I'm not saying I'm desperate as it's a lovely day where I am, but I've been bored of 1.6 since one month before it came out.
Okay, probably not exactly on topic, but never mind. If they're messing with boats and we now have leads, can we perhaps see Jet skis? Okay they'd only be fun in in SMP, unless they added powered boats...
I think it's a given that the first 1.7 snapshot will be released within a month, that is unless Mojang wants to release another bug-fix update for 1.6. As I'm sure I've said before I predict some major additions to the half-implemented features of 1.6, but the question still remains as to what we'll get, if anything, besides that.

Guys, all these interviews and stuff "what is going on..."...
there is over 20mil sold copies (one for 20eur) and look what we get for updates (gratz for horses):
-carpet - reused placeable snow These are actually quite useful in terms of aesthetics.
-clay blocks - wtf? we already have wool of same colors (and much easier to obtain) Wool is flammable, clay is not.
-launcher - they need it, not players Actually, we do need it as players, this is one step towards the plugin API
-and thousand useless things like tnt cart So because you don't use it, they shouldn't be added to the game? I use tnt carts quite often.
what we need are blocks, many blocks If it was that easy, don't you think they would have added many more blocks in alpha already? why in the hell we don't have quartz stairs or fences (also snowy ones)? Patience is a virtue why don't we get vertical slabs and quarter sized blocks ...and so on
in scale minecraft is made, it is impossible to add any decent details if you don't want to build crazy big Yes, seeing as this game is a voxel engine game, using squares, you do need to build relatively large things to get in depth details. Adding more blocks will not solve this. (and yes, we get doors 2 blocks high) and so on....
pls don't get me wrong, i've been enjoying minecraft for many months now, but mojang don't listen to players and are only making little changes to create feeling the game is still evolving I can only assume that you are fairly new to minecraft, or the forums, because a lot of the things added were done so because of high demand from, guess who, us. (yes it is, extremely slowly for what it is and how easy it is to add blocks and other stuff) Any extra content that you have received since you bought the game, was given to you for free. Further more, there is more going on behind the scenes than you are obviously aware of. I appreciate your input, but please take the time to read up on everything, you will be surprised at how much is in the works.

The main role of these extra blocks is to introduce more texture for people who like building stuff. Carpet is essentially a "paint" to throw on the surface of some blocks rather than having to dig out a whole layer. It essentially makes buildings a little bit shorter rather than having two layers between "floors" so you can have different ceilings from floors using wool blocks.
The launcher in particular has been something I've really enjoyed. I can switch back and forth between different versions of Minecraft, and more importantly I can have several different modded versions of Minecraft. I wish Forge worked better with different versions out of the box, but that is a Forge problem and not something to do with Mojang and the launcher. I still use the old launcher too!
As for the clay blocks, I found them incredibly interesting. The adobe look of buildings made with them is something that definitely gives another kind of feel to structures and can be delightful in the hands of a good map maker. For somebody who is more into the adventure and "hack n' slash" aspects of Minecraft, I'd agree that they are mostly pointless.... but not all people play Minecraft with the same goals in mind. The Wither and other mobs have been added to the game making the exploring aspects more exciting, so I fail to see the real problem here.

BADLY
Well guys I wish I could say I have more info but for right now JEB has pretty much restated everything I put on here
Happy updating!

This is not confirmed this is my prediction
That was mean...
Praise be to Spode.
Why are you calling him out?
Anyway, still bored of MC. Looking forward to the next snapshot, whenever that appears.
Give the geniuses at mojang some time to breathe after a successful update.
They have added enough things by now, just work with what you have and enhance it.
