The thing that was going to be a ruby (redstone gem perhaps)
Don't forget about the Lectern and the spike block. Heck, even the chair would be cool, IMO. The only planned features I wouldn't want to see implemented are those that would now be redundant (Crying Obsidian, Gear), and the Lantern (unless they can come up with a use that doesn't also make the game ten times as hard).

Spike block was merely an idea, besides, we have lava, fire, dispensers, pistons and now even anvils. Crying Obsidian looks amazing, if only Jeb could come up with a good use for it.
You know thats still more rare than diamonds? Maybe make it as rare as gold but the veins are only 1 block. Still think it shouldn't be rubies though....
Why, resistance potions gives you more defense and red particles. Rubies have a hardness of nine (moh's scale) in the real world and are red.
I really want some more music and possibly atmospheric audio loops. I wonder what's happening with the creative mode music and all the other audio stuff C418 has planned. Here are some more stuffs I think should come and are likely:
- Player skin refactoring (So you can have different left and right arms/legs)
- Sponges
- Snow that piles up
- Friends list
- More fishing related stuff
- More advanced/compacted redstone
- More world customizeability (Like being able to mess around with a fog/sky/water color palette for adventure maps and stuff)

I forgot about that. I really wish there would be a way to do this or at least place them with out 3rd party tools. Same for the mushroom blocks.
There's not even a mod that allows you to do this. At least you can place the mushroom blocks using TMI, but not the snow layers.

We need this badly. The main problem is having it in the environment. It could be 1-2 layers thick in Taigas, with 1 layer under trees and 2 exposed to sky, and similar things could be implemented in the other biomes, except with thicker layers.
What is and how do you use Optifine and the patcher? I must have it!
Optifine is a mod. You install it like any other mod. It has an option for animated textures for blocks and items. There is a specific naming system for adding the animated texture, but the file itself is essentially every frame of the animation in a single long row. Every frame of the game, it renders the next frame in the file, creating an animation. Coming soon will be animated textures for mobs, witch the less-awesome Patcher already supports.
A rare ruby ore that gives you a ruby when mined. When rubies are dropped into a nether wart solution they dissolve into it after 20 seconds. When you drink the new solution (resistance potion), your skin some how stays flexible but is now impenetrable for a few minutes.
shouldn't be so rare because otherwise it would be left unused. I really do think something else should be used because this seems like you took 2 random and often suggested ideas and mixed them together for no apart reason(then again, minecraft rarely has any logic in it).
1. Minecraft shouldn't have very advanced technology. It's set in medievel like times after all. Redstone isn't electric, it's magical. And you called them crystals yourself
2. I don't see why we need an new ore for this though. Mix and match some redstone and gold(probably an clock too) and we have an Redstone clock. An day/night sensor could probably be made with glowstone dust, redstone, and some other stuff. I really don't see why we would need an new ore for this.
3. Sounds like an random splash potion of something that I'll probably never use(like poison and harming, I've found these almost completely useless in battle) only this time it's so expensive that I probably need to make an exp grinder in order to use it decently. But I can't really make an good judgement by just your text. I'll need to use it in combat in order to find out how usefull it really is. Could still be kinda neat for custom maps though, I imagine vechz would make good use of it
All in all, it doesn't seem like we really need it. The redstone part can easily be replaced by an combination of items we already have. The enchanting/splash potion thing seems too expensive and will probably be fairly useless when in normal combat. Still good for adventure maps though.
1. Crystals are magic? My computer's CPU is controlled by magic crystals. Your argument is invalid. :3
2. Yes, but adding the "ruby" is so desired, so I came up with a logical use for it.
3. You sort of can already use it. Just apply a few enchantments to an emerald and whack a few people with it! As for being expensive, imagine a sword that applies a "potion of blindness" effect on anyone you point it at. That's pretty useful to me.
Can easily be replaced? Please provide me with a redstone circuit that detects light levels. >:3

Can't find the thread for optifine, it's so popular. Does anyone have a link?
And my friend found some weird block update circuit that detected light levels, but it took like minute after the level changed for it to actually update. Also, villagers automatically go inside at night, so that could be helpful.

I'm going to bet that you are using the forums' search bar. NEVER use the forums' search bar. EVER.
We also need some more types of storage blocks, such as redstone blocks, coal blocks, and hay bales. These have been suggested billions of times before, but we need them.

I can understand redstone and coal blocks since those would at least have a practical use and look attractive to boot.
But hay bales? I can already combine 192 wheat into 64 bread. Do I really need a way to combine 192 loaves of bread-worth's of wheat into 64 blocks? Personally, I've seen some mods that add hay bales and they are not only useless, but ugly at that.
Just my opinion, though.

If they don't add the api, and some sort of backwards compatability for mods, I'm gonna rage. These are the two things people have been asking for for about a year now.

There have already been circuits made with mob AI (Villagers reacting to circadian rhythms and Skeletons hiding in shade during day) However they are somewhat unreliable. Storage blocks are really needed.
My unrealistic wishlist for 1.5
-Colored Glass/Light (Been wanting this since I started playing in 1.2 Beta)
-Mod Api, this has so much potential, I want to see mods made exclusively for a single server, that would breed some very interesting results.
-I hadn't heard about the redstone overhaul but a few simplistic circuits would be very nice. (Not like Redpower, that would be too much (Not that I don't like Redpower...))
-More WorldGen Options
-Sponge functionality
-Some block that adds the functionality to put dropped items into chests, I WANT AUTOMATIC FARMS
-Friends List and better Chat on Servers (Friends list should also be accessable (and chat-able) in singleplayer))
-The ability to duplicate maps and a better system for creating them. Also, Book duplication.
-Most of all, I want adorable little bunny rabbits.
There will be lighting changes if Dinnerbone feels up to it. There will also be a redstone overhaul. This has been suggested numerous times by Jeb now, just read some of his more recent tweets. The Mod API will not be in 1.5.
so what are you saying the Mod API will never be out? its supposed to be in 1.5.
Personaly i want some more technical stuff added to minecraft. Mabie some items from the popular Tekkit Mod pack. like some basic power generation (watermills, a generator,) and some items that utilize that electricity (electric furnace, food cooker, mabie the macerator but it might be a little OP for Vanella). But these items would not be as technilogical as the ones in Tekkit.
<facehoof> It is endless if you are talking about a very future version of Minecraft. The combination of Minecraft is very complicated so far yet if you talk about 1.5, those new planned features will be very in random.*Doubled facepalm* Squaring or even cubing the combination of Minecraft, so please pace yourself to slow down, look forward to 1.4 first, then its following snapshots. </facehoof>
1.5 ? lol kid probably charlie the unicorn took you to the mountain right?
1.4 will have ton of bugs till they fix that and then till they start to talk about new stuff for 1.4.X blah blah too much time

Couldn't agree more.
You are correct, sir. I was too busy playing 1.9 back then, so I wasn't on the forums as much. xD

I'll investigate that Villager idea. A sensor block would still be better, though, and has been suggest over and over since Alpha.

Hello.
so what are you saying the Mod API will never be out? its supposed to be in 1.5.
edit: did not mean to 2x post
It is NOT supposed to be in 1.5. Give me one quote by the Mojang team that says it will be in 1.5. Oh, you can't, because they haven't said it.
...but that's just like, my opinion, man.
1.4 will have ton of bugs till they fix that and then till they start to talk about new stuff for 1.4.X blah blah too much time
You aren't entitled to constant updates. You aren't entitled to anything, really. There is no need for a quick release of 1.5, which everyone wants...
