So, I am a mod creator, Hunting+. A few days before 1.3.2 came out, I finally released an updated version. And then, Zomg it's 1.3.2. And i'm like dang it! Now it's taken me this long to get inspiration to update to 1.3.2, hope 1.4 doesn't come out anytime soon.
Did you want the bugs left in? The suffocation and nether bugs were especially bad, and the latter one was game breaking. If 1.4 is as far off as predicted, then that's quite awhile to deal with these bugs.
The thing is if Jeb released a completely bug free 1.3,people would complain that it took to long to come out,but then people would complain that there was mini updates...Pretty annoying dilema.
As I speak for all mod creators, I am just so mad that noobs complain over minecraft updates coming out. It only helps if you use un-modded client.. But in the end, a stable extra minecraft version isn't that bad...

Well, mojang were supposedly "Rushed" By everyone on their social media stuff, so if they had like another week, it would have been fine.

Simply put you should wait until a stable version is released before porting your mod, unless you enjoy keeping up with every version. There were enough game breaking bugs to almost guarantee that 1.3.2 was coming.
This will (should be) be the last release before 1.4 though, so you have a few months.

Don't play vanilla? You don't know **** about minecraft.

True, But My update was already out before "Oh, sorry to say, but we need to release some bugfixes, so here comes 1.3.2!"
I assume you want everyone to be happy. No offense, but did you see all the rage threads about the bugs? It slightly annoys me that nobody can ever be happy on these forums. I understand where your coming from, it can take a good deal of time to update mods. But the bug fixes are going to come out either way. Is it worth it to make a thread about something that will always happen? Realize, I'm not trying to attack you, it just annoys me that these threads even exist.

Well at least the changes are miniscule to the majority of the coding, and MCP was updated extremely quickly if you use that.
How long do things kinds of updates usually take anyways?

If your asking about minecraft, a few months unless bugfixes. If your asking about mods, non modloader small take least, then modloader small ones take second least, then big non modloader take 2nd biggest, and big modloader/forge mods take most.

I was talking about mods, always been interested in trying my hand but I just can't look at code all day anymore.
Interesting, I figured modloader mods would have been a little faster but it makes since accounting for time modloader takes to update, and then they can update.
I completely agree about this update in particular though. I mean 1.3.1 changed literally nothing aside from the obfuscation right? That shouldn't have even happened and 1.3.2 should be 1.3.1.
Oh well, at least its not like the old days when updates were rolled out all the time.
