Thank you Beltir + Ms Britten for taking my crap ( I changed ) Most importantly all the Admins out there as well, who mostly work behind the scenes of MCF. Thanks guys for providing one awesome forum <3
Right, first of all I think that if we have a thank the moderators thread then we should have a thank the community members thread as well. It's only fair, and without people reporting threads then it would be a lot more difficult to keep the forums running.
And I think the people who take their time to go through the frontpage and patrol for the mods do deserve a lot of gratitude as they're doing the same kind of job except with less tools.
Now, while I don't like to play favorites, I do have some people I'd like to thank to because of the wonderful work they do on OT, or because they simply gain affection from me.
Those people are:
I will explain each one starting with Hazali. She's currently my favorite person on the forums and a relatively close friend of mine at the moment, she is a veteran of the forums whom always managed to stay cool and rational when taking her decisions, she is often seen as cold by many people but that's because they don't take the effort and time to know her, because she's simply nothing like that.
She has done so much for the forums. A day doesn't go by without us having a conversation where she talks about the forums and her duty, she has a very strong sense of justice that we both share. She simply is very efficient and dedicate so much time and effort to the forums to the point it affects her in numerous ways, and to me that's heartwarming. To have so much love for a community is simply commendable.
She also has one of the most enticing personalities I've come across with, a very unique individual. Doesn't feel generic at all and that seriously intrigues me.
Piratebay, contrary to popular believe, is certainly not a jerk or even a hardass. He is very, very fair and we often share the same opinion when it comes to moderating decisions (as mini-mod from my part), because it's simply the right thing to do for the forum, even if people will hate me for it. I think he shares the same ideology. I haven't seen much moderating from him on the forum, and that's because he's a redmin, but whenever I needed him about something urgent he was very quick to take care of it, always understanding my side and point of view. He's actually a pretty chill guy if you're not intimidated by his red group like many people are.
I think he has done quite a lot for the forums and from what I hear he's a very good red admin when it comes to tutoring his sectional moderators, something I haven't had the pleasure to know from direct experience. Shine on, you crazy *******.
Cuuldude, is possibly the nicest and less intimidating mod I've ever met in this community, but this also applies to Atkana. They are extremely nice and easy going, when you're talking to them you feel like you're talking to just another user, without any kind of intimidation from their authority or anything, it makes you feel really comfortable and at home. The type of guys I'd like to have a beer with. And while they have education to attend to, and can't be around that much I've seen how much dedication they put towards the forum from direct experience and I really enjoyed it. I've also brought up issues with them and they've always agreed with me, showing some understanding. Props to them for keeping OT clean when they're around, because that's the way I like it.
Beltir, is sadly the person I've had less experience with from all the people I've mentioned so far. But while our time spent socializing has been short, it also has been pretty darn good, and that's why he's getting a commendation. He can be intimidating when you don't know him, but once you get past that you see that he's just another guy, very dedicated to the forums trying to always take the right decision. For the short time he was a sec mod in OT, he was very effective at his job and I enjoyed working with him quite a lot. I wish to know him better if we ever have the chance.
And that's it. Sorry for not mentioning other people but I don't know them well or have experiences with them well enough since I don't visit other sections.
