Hey guys, Idk if this has been posted anywhere yet but I was playing the pre-release of 1.8 and found a river, at least I think that's what it was, but within about 25 blocks I found 4 clay deposits at the bottom of it; It's awesome, idk if it was just the random world generation or if its going to be like that for everyone.
From an extremely reliable source (Mojang.), I found out that Endermen drop "Ender Pearls" that don't do nothing yet.
This is slimeballs all over again...

According to the wiki, having one in your inventory protects you from endermen.

No they do something... They make the endermen NOT attack you..
Hm.. I shall try that then.

Fence Gates appear to not be able to be toggled by a switch or any sort of redstone device. You must manually open them.

New discovery! Shears can now cut grass and allow you to pick it up and place the grass somewhere else! The grass "blocks" are currently unnamed, so mousing over them yields no tooltip.

Sure it's been mentioned but it seems you can feed all the new meats to wolves, including rotten meat and it seems to have no adverse effects on wolves at all, in other words rotten meat is good wolf grub!
Oh yes, and I believe rain hurts endermen!?
Well, that's very good. I was wondering how we were supposed to feed ourselves and our wolves if only raw pork could be feed to the wolves. So, this is very good news indeed.
They can break blocks themselves too and come out from the holes... it is real scary! they are coming at you like, 5 at a time! XD Dont believe me? and skip forward to 08:41 :biggrin.gif:
That is creepy. It reminds me of stuff that happens in Moria with mice, rats, louses, and centipedes. I believe Moria called it explosive breeding. The general tatic if you got overwhelmed was to run and lock a door behind you. That won't work with the silverfish. They're like the replicators from Stargate, they'll just eat through the blocks to make more and come after you. Your best bet now looks like to kill the first one before it can multiply. If that doesn't work you're left with TNT and lava.
It looks like it rains through cracked stone brick blocks. Is that on purpose or a bug? If it is on purpose, then it’s really cool!
I think the pre-release ruined the update. Everything from the real 1.8 update is in the pre-release, so it's pointless! :sad.gif: How could this happen?!!?!?!!?! WHYYYYY!!!!!????

This is Notch and team we're talking about. Besides fixing all the bugs found in the pre-release, I'm sure they'll add something(s) that wasn't in the pre-release before the full release. I think the pre-release is mostly to help them find the worst of the bugs and give them more time to work on other things (their still secret projects) instead of them doing all the searching. It would take a lot less time to find the bugs to have the community do it for them. This should quicken the full release and possibly allow addition of other content we don't have in the pre-release and otherwise might not get when the full version of the 1.8 update is finally released. It also relieves some of tention built up in the community over the last few months gearing up to the Adventure update.
I am going to close my eyes and hope for improved pig riding. I am going to hope really hard. If it doesn't happen in 1.8 I will close my eyes and repeat the process for the 1.9 half of the Adventure update. For me better pig ridding is synonymous with adventure in Minecraft. I am probably building myself up to a great deal of disappointment, but I can live with it. I’m not sure why we don’t already have this beyond Notch/Jeb hasn't gotten around to it yet.
I wonder what ever happened to all those new sounds we were supposed to get... I was really looking forward to them. I guess they've just been discarded :sad.gif:
Sounds are always a last-priority feature, it seems. The halloween update previews were released a day or two before the actual updates and they obviously used filler sounds (no ghast sounds, pig sounds for the zombie pigmen)
I have a bug that I have found. Not sure if this is known but on servers (just regular vanilla servers) you can build in the nether but you cannot destroy anything. You can't even put out fire.
That’s really good for those of us desert librarians.
You do not. Only modders get to after the full release of 1.8 update.
That is really odd. Maybe the sheep doesn’t know it is supposed to be a cave spider.

Most everyone. Everyone is just trying to play the pre-release update.

If it is a bug, I hope they make it on purpose. It's too awesome not to remain.
If that's true, that would be hilarious. Minecraft is only going to keep getting better too.
