Been playing SMP Minecraft 1.8(.1) for like a week now, at least a few hours a day, expanding 2 day cycles worth of walking in every direction and I have YET to see:
-Wolves(Not a single one)
-Villages
-Strongholds
-Enderman moving player-made blocks.
How rare is this stuff?
Wolves - i havant seen many of them
Villages - i have 5 of them within 5 min run of where im building my fort
Stronghold - yet to find but i havant realy gone looking for them yet
Enderman - has moved a couple of my cobble stone but i just replace them with to half block cobblestone and they havant touched them. Takes half a second to put the stone abck that they moved aswell.
To the people that have seen wolves: is this in SMP or single player? I know I found some when I was playing single player in the pre-release but I've not seen any since the official release when I started playing on my server again. I really haven't been looking for them very hard but I've seen any and some people have been saying that they haven't seen any in SMP either. Just kinda curious.
Depends on your luck really and seed of course, I can find at least one village in a couple days if I explore my surroundings. Wolves spawn in a group of 8 once right underneath my spawn (pine forest)
Yet to see a stronghold however as said 3 per map makes it rare, mine shafts however you can dig down in one spot and your chances are good.
Endermen are also VERY common now, go out at night you will see one, even in caves you will see one and where one is 3 more follow.
early before 1.8 released notch mentioned dragons coming with the adventure update. So what happened to them? are they ingame cause i havent seen one. is it just the following new creatures.
endermen
cave spider
silver fish (havent seen)
As to you, Dragons are not going to be added but notch does want them to be, Jeb is the one who didn't want them at first but Notch is a stubborn little bugger and wants em so chances of them appearing are good. Now they won't be in 1.8 that's for sure but possibly a new mob for the Nether revamp in 1.9 is very likely
I haven't seen any wolves yet but I never do only see them few game days after creating a world usually.
I've generated a new 404 (seed) map 3 times, and I've always seen about 8 wolves around spawn. Since animals are persistent (and wolves are biome-specific), that may be why I see them in that one area so often.
Has ANYBODY seen a slime in 1.8? I can't make any sticky pistons!

Taiga and Tundra exist in 1.8, but there's no snow. The pine forests and some of the flat lands are supposed to be snowy.
I'm not sure if snowy biomes in 1.8 chunks will be fixed when 1.9 comes out, but snow should return in 1.9.

I don't think slimes exist in single player, I've never seen one outside of servers, despite using multiple spawn locators and farms.
