No, if there are bugs then deal with it, the game is in Beta.
Do not tell me that "I paid for it I should get my money's worth" because you specifically paid less than full price for the game because it was in Beta. If you own this game right now and think that Mojang owes you a bug-free game, you owe them money.
I don't think you're quite getting it. In complaining about the bugs, people are making it clear that there are bugs. In making it clear that there are bugs, the developers are able to fix the bugs. By fixing all the bugs, the developers are able to make a polished game. By making a polished game, people are more likely to purchase it. Meaning profit for the developers.
So how exactly does complaining about the game cause anyone problems?
You call this love and tolerating the **** out of something? Take off that avatar, now!
On topic: Would you prefer that notch doesn't update minecraft ever, and that you are stuck with whatever version you originally got? Notch adds new content, and people get pissed. Notch delays 1.8 so that he can fix bugs, and you know what they do? They pissed. It's either 1.8 now and buggy, or 1.8 later. Make up your MIND!!!

The game isn't finished. This is simply how game development works. Debugging is the very last thing you do because everything you add can break the game otherwise. So eliminating every bug right now before they've even added all the game's features is a waste of time.
wow many haters. IT IS in beta. It plays perfectly fine on my 4 year old computer I built myself. I get about 170 average fps. Sure there are bugs. Most games have bugs. It is in beta because NOTCH has a dream in his head of what he wants minecraft to look like, and as long as that dream is not fulfilled (even if there are still some bugs) then it will be beta. Seriously, get a new computer and play. Ram and hard drive seem to be the big components that affect how smooth it plays. Upgrade those for cheap. for $200 you can get a 2 year old amd processor and ram that will play minecraft great.
Also, its JAVA. Java is just another operating language on top of the OS (which uses another operating language).
FOr the time being, invest some times in increasing the amount of resources JAVA can use. if you have a 64bit processor get the 64bit java version. That will help.
Frankly, while complaining may not be able to get yourself heard, bringing attention to problems certainly is something that anyone currently playing Minecraft should do. I totally agree with the idea that it is better to have 100 complaints with 5 useful ones than to hear nothing at all. Having been a server admin, hearing nothing that is wrong means you can't fix anything, and that leaves everyone with such a sour taste as to remove all fun from the game.
For the it's beta crowd, bite me. If you (as a software developer) are going to use terms such as alpha, beta, it is useful to use the common definitions that everyone understands. Alpha stage development is for major feature changes. Bugs are very common in alpha products. This would include modifying the terrain generator, adding a modding API, adding biomes, etc. Beta stage development is often used for refinement of currently implemented features (aka, bug squashing) and adding content. Content would be new blocks, new mobs, new recipes and so forth.
Keep in mind the anticipated release date of Minecraft is Nov 11, 2011. It is Sept 14, 2011. That leaves less than 2 months remaining and they're still dicking around with world generation. Something tells me that either we will have a rushed product at the end with many bugs, or Nov 11 will not be the release date. Or, more probably, Notch's arbitrary use of alpha, beta ultimately mean nothing and we'll see the 'release' on Nov 11 and continue to have a half-baked product, relying on conflicting mods to fix up the game.
ITT: People complaining about bugs in the first official version of an indie game being solely made by one guy. At least, I don't think Notch is working on it again yet. Be bloody grateful you twats. Notch/Jeb owes you NOTHING. NOTHING.

This is the most sorry company I have ever purchased a game from. Sure they was indie back Alpha but for ****s sake all the money they have they should have alot more.

Far too crudely stated, but this guy has half a point.
Failing servers should be a thing of the far past for an operation with millions to spend.
DRM sucks in most all its forms, but I get that it's necessary. But it brings with it a big responsibility not to break the game for every honest paying customer. If the game is dependent on the servers, then make the damn servers work. No excuses. Money and a bit of expertise is all it takes, and neither one should be the slightest problem here.
Programming is another matter. I can deal with bugs and semi-perpetual beta as long as the overall pattern is a good outcome and a majority of (eventually) happy players. Good programmers are hard to find. A massive influx of new coders in an effort to speed development would probably wreak total chaos.
PEOPLE OFCOURSE THERES BUGS! They added a ton of stuff! And for some reason everything is going well for me! There is bound to be bugs DONT WORRY THEY WILL BE FIXED!! You people aren't thinking! You go make a game that has ABSOLUTELY NO BUGS! See how easy that is..
Good programmers are hard to find. A massive influx of new coders in an effort to speed development would probably wreak total chaos.
Funny thing is, I don't see Notch or Jeb as good programmers. How the hell do you introduce a Furnace Sprite bug and completely miss it before doing your first 'pre-release to beta testers'? Why aren't there use cases that they're using? Case 1: Furnaces. Can furnaces still use <fuel x>, do they work? Yes/no. Walk through the cases methodically and make sure all base cases are covered. You won't get every bug that way, but it sure helps to have a baseline. Add in that the words 'refactor code' should never be uttered this early in the game. Modular design is key, and it makes me so sad that it isn't used. Easily replaceable world generators, or even adding new ones while keeping the old. Poor modularization is why we have this distinct difference between single and multiplayer behavior. If the single player game USED THE SAME SERVER CODE, but interconnected to the thread internally, there wouldn't be a difference between these two modes of play. Simplified development means more time available for doing cool things.
Sufficed to say, good programmers they are not. Sufficient is probably the highest term I would award them.
1.8 is just so sad, everything is buggy like crap, and the lag makes it unplayable! It's like putting cookies there and when you eat them you get beat.
Or something like that.
looks like someone saw a endermen...
ur just raging about die in game....
damn raging ponies..................
Okay mojang, what the hell is this??

I'd support your crappy argument but you support the tyrant, and, I just can't support you.
And to the guy above me, WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT PONIES?!
Oh shut the hell up you people sayin its just in "beta". This damn game isn't in beta. Mojang is just leavin that title as an excuse to slack. I mean for christ's sake they have Beta testers for this beta!! Even Notch said nothing will change but the title once it is released. I can't wait for the full release because the game will still be chock full of bugs.
The beta testers are us, durrr.

Minecraft! The mere name of it conjures up mental images of all kinds of awesomeness!
im running a private 1.8 server for 5 people. we all have render distance far, fancy graphics, and smooth lighting. our computers were made within the last 2 years. 2 of us had to do some java tweaks to allocate more memory
I recently bought a new i7 w/- 8gb ram and tried setting up a batch file to increase Java memory and for some reason it wouldn't accept it, so I'd be thrilled if you could tell me how you set yours up as I find now my Minecraft runs out of memory and shuts down, often in the middle of a battle with mobs..

The best thing for mojang to say is that an 11-11-11 release will NOT HAPPEN.
I would rather wait until even late 2012, than get a piece of crap 11-11-11 release.
I will play an older version until then. fewer, stable fetaures are better then more buggy features.
