Now i know that i probably stuffed up something in this so dont hurt me!
Now from someone that is probably deeply concerned about the 1.8 update section, it actually getting quite irritating for all the annoyingness in this section of the forum, and i know that its the Modarators job for controlling the forum, but as SabbyKat has said, this section of the forums is out of control! So i know its not my decision to decide, but i Think that because SabbyKat is concerned for this section of the forums, and is the only one who gives a damn for the forum, i reckon she should be a Moderator!

Edit: I should probably change this... sounds fairly... expectant, arrogant even. I just like to clarify my motives, I over-explain everything lol >.<
Well, I can confirm at this moment, at 2-6 am Mountain Time, - 7 GST, there are none on. I've had reports for CLEARLY dangerous/offensive posts lingering for a few hours now, so that shows that issue.
I agree 100%, I've put a lot of darn effort into learning info on 1.8, and trying to keep good discussion, but it's impossible to stop spammers from spamming, since I cannot do anything to stop them, nor have the authority to firmly tell them to stop. All I can do is try to guide the few who DO listen and are just misinformed, to proper information where they can discuss it... *reads further post*
And hey! You talked about me! I'm famous! *poses for cameras* tehehe ;P
And wow wow wow, I'm being nominated as a Mod? That's a first. Most people beg I never get mod-power as I'm not an individual who lets people get away with abuse. I utilize a simple three-strike rule.
#1 assume they are naive/happy, and posted out of excitement, and politely guide them to relevant resources.
#2 Warn them to fix the 'issue' whether it be off-topic comments, spam threads, whatever the case, taking a less 'cheery' approach.
#3 put my foot down and do what needs to be done. It's served me well in the past.
But why am I even talking about this? makes me sound like sound bragger! Blah!
If you (or others) think I should be a moderator, I am flattered, but I will not 'solicit' such requests/views. I do what I do because I care about Minecraft, and having valuable, fun, constructive discussions.
I also think there should be special mods just for the 1.8 update section, the people are just posting ****, and every time the same.
Agreed. The 1.8 board( and 1.9, and beyond) are tempoary(?) boards, which have an EXTREME amount of traffic as people want to know everything, as it's posted, as they are excited. Unlike normal, permanent boards, more robust moderation should take place on these boards due to this highly sensitive matter of misinformation, which spirals out of control into MORE misinformation, Rumors, and spam, which then get believed into fact, and turns into conflicts of 'discussion' over who is right, who is wrong.
Yet at the same time, I think discussion should not be hampered, but 'guided'. Moderators of this board should take a more direct, community-involved approach posting in threads, and helping correct folk, stopping off-topic non-sense, and generally trying to provide beneficial discussion/views, which lead further into more discussion of future ideas, how 1.8 (and beyond) ideas may be added, etc etc.
Of course, we have 0 say in this, so it's really down to the head honcho's to think that this is a good idea too, which they most likely won't :tongue.gif:
Apparently there was a malware link leading to a fake thing about 1.8 update, i did not click on it for fear of destroying my cpu. This sort of stuff isnt being controlled and is only going to get worse :angry.gif:

Yes, that is one post I meant when when there is open reports of dangerous content, that has NOT been removed. :/
The way others have been conducting themselves from the lead up to 1.8, the creation of this sub-section and even until now has been extremely distasteful.
I really don't have the same respect I once had for these forums. Some measures need to be taken.
I think the whole 1.8 discushion should be closed now. It's going to be locked once the update is out but now we know most of the content it is just salt on my wounds not having it out now. Sure the Mojang boys have to tweek it a bit and most likely roll out the NPC's in the second part of the update but do we need any more speculation? In just the one 1.8 update thread with all the videos of PAX I got all the information I need. Of course I want more but it's unlikely. I just want the game updated already and no one here can help me.
NOTCH I'm cutting myself now, are you happy???? Now where's that salt?
To be truth, I saw a lot of spam here, but never a warning. Do you really think the admins will read this? You should pm them :biggrin.gif:
I did. Critic-squid replied to me, going to get information to me later which could mean MANY things.
IF you guys are serious about me being a Mod, I am prepared to step up and do it, but you'll need to pm critic-squid and show your support not only for me, but for change! For a spam-free, discussion rich 1.8 board and beyond! VIVA LA REVOUTION! Hehehe ;D
