I have been very curious about NPC villages and them being generated in the world, but I have been wondering if we will be able to create our own villages and have NPCs move in, kinda like Terraria.
Notch did say he was allowing a creative mode. (Correct me if I'm wrong please.)

Oh crap.

As far as I know, no. Most likely they'll be generated in their own biomes and may occasionally expand, but I don't believe you'll be able to build your own village.

(Sigh) I have a feeling we won't be able to, but you can just imagine what kind of villages people would be able to create, and how "not alone" it would feel.

From the hints in Jeb's twitter, it sounds like the villages will be pretty in-depth as it is. Off the top of my head, I remember that he said something about fountains, and Notch was having trouble with making the borders look good. So these villages should be pretty elaborate.

I predict we can make our own villages, but nothing like Terraria. Notch isn't coppying everything from Terraria, not to mention that npc houses would require requirements for a house to be considered a house, which ruins creativity.

I'm not saying to blatantly copy Terraria, but like assign where NPCs would live and where they go/do during the day/night, or something along those lines.

That sounds perfecl reasonable. Mayeb after finding a natural npc village, you could somehow get some of them to follow you and lead them into your village, and put down some sort of block which they congregate near. They would look for areas with an entrance of at least X*X with a hollowed inside of at least X*X*X and if they don't find one they would make their own.
Well, maybe there will the roamers.
(Implying NPC's are pigmen)
You come across a few pigmen.
They look hungry and dirty.
Tell them to enter your house.
Give them a few things, and have them on their way, OR let them live with you if they promise to work.
I'm hoping it will be possible but I'm definitely not expecting it.
Tbh, I think the villages and NPC's will be buggy as hell for the first few weeks after the update is released.
Yeah, in a game where the only AI is to follow the target and attempt to smash it, or shoot it, making complex peaceful AI will take a while.

Still, we can hope :3
