Aren't they adorable? :smile.gif: Apparently they can be tamed - I'd love to know how! I'm going to try and find out shortly.
They seem to be very adept climbers. I've watched them speeding about along the treetops, but never once have I seen one fall!
Domestication and breeding! (Thanks Bizzy)
Once you've located an ocelot, stand very still with a raw fish in your hand. The ocelot should come up to you and wait nearby, looking at you expectantly - don't make any sudden movements though, or else you'll frighten it off!
The ocelot can then be tamed by feeding it the raw fish - once you've given it a sufficient amount, it'll transform into one of several kinds of domestic cat! This'll work for both adults and kittens.
These cats can then be bred (again using raw fish) to create more kittens!
Awwww. :smile.gif:
Behaviour
Once domesticated, they'll follow you around (even teleporting to you if you get too far) just like wolves. Unlike wolves, however, they don't seem to be able to stay put, at least not just yet.
i know how to do it!!! I tamed a kitten, not sure if it works with adults.
I noticed that when you hold raw fish and stand VERY stil, they move towards you! If they come to you, you feed them some raw fish, and you get a cat! Not sure how to get them follow you though. You have to be very calm, or they run away!
That must be it - I bet you they can't be tamed as adults, but only as kittens. I'm going to try it now. :smile.gif:
This is freaking awesome. The more mobs the better neutral, passive or hostile.
Also its freaking amazing watching the new AI, those cats can just run fast around the most complex terrain, such an amazing improvement over the default crap ai.
Yeah, I've yet to see one fall. They're quite amazing to watch! :smile.gif:
Hmmm...it seems that once domesticated, they'll follow you around and even teleport to you if you get too far away, just like wolves. Unlike wolves, however, I haven't managed to work out how to get a cat to just stay in one position!
Ocelots turn into domesticated cats... makes sense.
However, I like the idea of having tamed wildcats though, but that's just a quick change in the texture pack.

They also love to attack chickens:
I've tried feeding it, but it won't accept any meat or milk. I moved on to sugar, eggs, fruit...nothing's working so far. :sad.gif:

when close enough, right click with raw fish
22-11-11The day I finally realized exactly how immature this community can be
This time it worked on an adult - I must've freaked the other one out a little too much! :tongue.gif:
Let's say it altogether now...
D'AWWWWWWWW!
Not necessarily a baby - it seems that both adults and kittens can be tamed. :smile.gif:

I can't catch one, it's annoying me.
Wolves had (or have ... I'm not sure if it has been addressed) a similar problem.
Just FYI.
A further clarification on my test.
In creative mode, I put two ocelots in a small stone box that they couldn't escape from and then flew off beyond far render distance.
When I came back they were gone.
I tried this test again with two wild wolves and two wild ocelots.
I came back and the ocelots were gone, but the wolves remained.
They took 40 blocks. That’s as many as four tens. And that’s horrible.
However, I like the idea of having tamed wildcats though, but that's just a quick change in the texture pack.
