The land will remain the same as it is already generated. The BIOMES however are tied in with the seed, and thus have shifted in 1.1. You wont see the proper biome generation that goes with the changes until you explore new chunks.
It is annoying, my extream hills is now covered in snow on one map after the first rain/snow fall. All because the biomes shifted :tongue.gif:

I see nothing wrong with snow on top of a mountain.

because it makes the transitions look better from swamp other biomes. personally if they can make it look nice transition wise in the meantime till they fix out other biome problems and come back to this later im fine with that
Things are Way Less Dark, even in the new areas i have now explored, in respect to previous posts.
I know many people have wanted things to look less abrasive but the new lighter shades are barely even visible.
The effect has been washed out and sublimated off the scenery.
I liked the dark effect in the swamp water that we used to enjoy.
I was building scenery that enhanced the effect and created creepy swamp journeys.
That fun is no longer accessible to me.

You don't need a spiritual leader to achieve enlightenment.
If you don't like the new look, downgrade to 1.0.0.
You know, this continues to be a very trite answer for people to give.
I don't even necessarily agree with the OP. I'm just saying, too many of you act like any change that happens in the game is absolutely sacrosanct and beyond criticism or question whatsoever. You fail to recognize that not every new feature or idea is perfectly implemented, and a very valuable thing in all of this ongoing development is to get feedback from players.. to help make the product the best possible, and appeal to the broadest base possible.
If people have a problem with something, they should be allowed (even encouraged) to post about it. A change made by Notch or Jeb is not automatically perfect, without ability to be questioned or criticized, and certainly not set in concrete to never be changed, altered or reverted to previous functionality.
I'm beginning to realize I am even breaking this rule/mentality myself, when I harp against those who hate the changes to ladders. They have every right to complain. Ultimately Jeb/Notch will do what they think is right. But they should get that feedback. So I will not be saying anything else on the ladder subject. They have a right to complain.
I am opposed to the lighter and more gentle effects yeilded when swamps generate.
My sadness over the state of my main base is a side issue.
I find the new look to be bland and far too subtle.
Personally, I feel that swamps weren't that changed. Yeah, the water is not as incredibly dark but other than that the change is hardly noticeable. You can still obviously see the differences and swamps continue to be darker than all other biomes.
Opinions are like armpits. Everyone has one and some stink, now if someone says your armpits stink it isn't very polite to go rubbing it in their face, it isn't going to make them say yours doesn't stink it'll just make them dislike you and your armpit even more. Remember keep your armpits and opinions respectful.
i like the way swamps are i play 1.1 and all my swamps have retained there dark colors and dark creepy water and the transition is even better and to top it all off theres a cave somewhere under my swamp because im constantly hearing creepy noises also ive noticed that how in some swamps itll be dark but there will be a small area of a different biome just randomly in the middle

But that's not what you said when you started this thread. You were complaining that your existing swamp biome looked different, and people pointed out that is because the biome shifted and you're not actually in a swamp any more.
I do not like the water ALL being clean and sparkly.
I miss my large swamp bay with trees in water and vines And Dark water.
Everything just looks spit and polish now.

While your Swamp was a "swamp" biome in 1.0, after updating it is apparently some other biome. Be glad it isn't just freezing.
Make a new world or just explore new chunks if you want to see what the new swamps actually look like.
I know i dont like how my MAIN spawn base looks now....

The trees and vines were generated in 1.0 when it was still a swamp.
None of that changes after an update. What changes is things like the biome coloring and weather.

swamps look better. They tried to fix the terrible eyesore that they were before, and actually succeeded a little bit.

Mostly moved on. May check back a few times a year.

I just hate to go there and I wanted to voice my opinion first.

That makes more sense than what I thought OP was going on about.
I don't even think they changed the colour of the water, they just added a transition.
100,000 people say, "FIX TEH SWAMP TRANSITIONS"
Fixed.
10 people come and say, "TEH WATER IS TOO CLEAR NOW WTF"
I mean really. Just saying. I never liked the dark swamp water anyways.
