I wanted better terrain, and I don't feel shafted. Those who felt there should have been more need to quit setting your standards so high when Mojang has yet to fulfill any of those silly ideas.
You call going back (well, with some tweaking) to what we had ages ago "setting standards too high"? Please, spare us...
If it isn't people complaining the hills aren't high enough, we got people complaining there isn't enough flat land for what they want to do. Even with superflat land there are people still complaining about that.
You can either continue being unhappy in which case you will just get tired of the game for no good reason, or you can look for what is good in the game and find new enjoyment in it. In the end, even with user input, it is still up to Mojang what goes into Minecraft. Overall, I am not disappointed in the game which is enough for me.
That's why they are retarded and shouldn't be taken seriously. Just because they say anything at all doesn't mean it's worth as much as our complaints on current terrain generation. Don't give up on improving the game because some trolls/12yos are hating.
It's ridiculous to expect perfection. You can either learn to accept the flaws and take advantage of them, or find something else that you can enjoy.
lol, no, it's perfectly normal to expect perfection from the best idie game ever (loads of awards and millions of players agree with this statement). We shouldn't be happy when it's getting worse (well, snapshots are headed in right direction but 1.8/1.0 brought some horrible changes [mainly terrain and armor]).
None of the authors of the wiki page knew when 1.1 was going to be released or what it would contain. Mojang could even have desided to skip 1.1 entierly and gone right to 1.2 if the patch was large enough.
Maybe the page should be changed to just list the changes and leave out any predictions about version numbers and what it will contain. It can sometimes be a little bit spooky when the comunity creates their own truths. I think a lot of "promises" have come from the wiki and forum and not from Mojang.
Please don't quote the wiki as a reference source, please get the info from the original source. The wiki is often incorrect or making assumptions.
For example, the page you provided claims that new mob AI will be in the 1.1.0 version update. They make this claim based on the following Twitter post:
"Been working with @jonkagstrom today on Minecraft. He has already a plan how to structure the new mob AI system!"
That doesn't say they will release it with 1.1.0 or how soon it will be ready, but already the wiki has it written as if it's gospel truth. Now, the wiki might be correct, or they might not, but they don't have any valid supporting information for their claim.
Edit:
P.S. I really wish they would stop making changes to the terrain generation until it's nice and stable. I can deal with all the other changes, but nothing causes as much headache as when the generator changes.
