I've crafted a Golden Apple before - legit. I'm not one of those guys who skips Gold just because I don't need it; I must have around 6 or 7 stacks of Gold at this point, so making multiple Golden Apples is actually feasible. It doesn't help that Gold is all but useless for most people/projects. Reducing the price to craft Golden Apples makes me kind of sad. I hope it still requires at least ingots, and not just nuggets.
Yay, finally that recipe may have some actual use in Vanilla. :biggrin.gif:
Hopefully they make it feasible, anything more than 8 ingots is a bit crazy. If I was to decide, I'd probably make it like the compass recipe but instead of iron it was gold (4 ingots total) and instead of the redstone it was an apple.

I never really thought of them as something to actually use as a food item, just a trophy for getting one. I'd stick with it being really valuable but if Mojang wants to make it better, let's see how it goes
Ive never even seen an apple! Let alone the fabled golden apple. Before the new pre-releases it was ridiculously hard to find an apple. and THEN you had to spend 2 years finding 72 gold ingots, to finally get a piece of food that wasnt really worth the effort. It would be a lot better if they used golden ingots rather than gold blocks, But gold nuggets is just to easy. Either make gold apples easier to make, with ingots, or make it so it actually has an amazing effect!
I hope its made with nuggets instead, and that potions of regeneration (as well as other potions) have stronger effects and become stackable. Potions are supposed to be powerful, they shouldn't be a pain in the ass to have (no stacking? ... wtf)
I agree. Heck, I doubt anyone ever actually crafts golden apples.
Food used to heal health, not hunger and used to not be stackable. Now we have potions that heal health I do not see your point to spam the forums with meaningless memes.
