Well, with the constant complaining of a lot of additions ( specially the recent ones ) i suppose a lot of those users are now using mods that affect terrain, or add more items for like potion brewing, or mods that make better enchanting , or even mods that add more mobs.
So , the main question of this thread is : Do you find mods neccesary to enjoy minecraft?
I would like if you answered in the poll so we can get a percentage of how many people in this community actually enjoys the additions, or just use mods to add what they want to the " boring " game, and answer with a reply so you can get people to understand the reason of your choice.
My personal answer :
I just use optifine and SSP commands, i find optifine neccesary because i use a laptop and it lags without it so it is not the game´s fault. , and SSP just because i like to control stuff and test my exp grinders before removing the lights and other stuff like weather.
But other than that, SSP is not really necesary and optifine is because my minecraft lags because of my laptop xD.
I don't usually, no. Though recently I started a single player on a great sort of island-hopping seed and I've been using the Zeppelin Mod to make a large sailing ship to explore and plan to install Rei's Minimap as well.
Once the Mod API is in I probably would like to have server mods to keep multiplayer interesting for people.
To be honest, I rarely install mods on ANY games I play.
I prefer to play the game the way its developers made it to be played.
I actually installed several mods a while ago, so I could
join some servers to play. Unfortunately, not all mods are
compatible with each other, so I had my lesson...
The only thing I m modding in MINECRAFT is the TEXTURE PACK,
nothing more, nothing less...

Treat me the same way you want others to treat you!
Well, I used to use mods. I got tired of mods and now I just play vanilla.
The only one I'm trying to get is Optifine but it doesn't work on the snapshot.
Yes the game is unplayable to me with out mods. But not because of the game losing it's values. Because you can only go wood > stone > iron > diamond > wintehgaem so many times for you need something different.
I've played through and conquered Fallout 3 and New Vegas with out mods about 3 times each. I still love the games and play them all the time, but now I do it with mods.
That's what makes games like this good. The community is constantly refreshing the game play with modifications.
I only use "small" mods such as Risugami's shelf and armor mods, and also somebody else's sponge mod.

I find mods neccessary. Despite and because of the new content, the game kind of sucks. It feels like there's alot of loose ends, like massive oceans with only squids, and it also feels like more ores for tools and weapons is more of a neccessity than enchantments and potions. Also, I loathe the breeding system. It'd be nice if animals were born fully grown like in one of the pre releases, because then your only limitation is wheat.
"Yes, vanilla is now boring because it has lost its values"
Just a yes or no will do, thank you. I don't really use mods, though with some mods, they usually fill some missing element of Minecraft that's needed.
I use mods to add something else to the game, a lil more "spice"... it might make the game kinda different but makes the game more interesting... altought i could play vanilla but i might be bored after a while.
I could use mods to improve things of the game, like people is mentioning optifine, i use things that change some things in game like lava decay to setup the decay tim, treecapitator makes chopping trees not so annoying and more realistic and sign editor so i dont hve to break signs and i can add colors...
The poll needs a middle point like i play with modes but idk if i have to play vanilla or something like that... that would be my answer
I can't vote, because I haven't downloaded a single mod once, and I'm still playing the game and enjoying the hell out of it. I have no actual complaints other than things that will get fixed (NPC AI).

Why not just "yes" and "no"?
