It still doesn't change the fact that "RPG" and "Lame" not belonging in the same sentence is concrete fact.
Well, I'm sure if you looked hard enough you could find a game of the RPG genre that wasn't made very well (I'm not saying anything for/against MC, just games in general).

I wouldn't say that it's dead (because a shitton of people still play it and are still buying it), but it does seem to have quite a bit less momentum than it did a few months ago.

First off, im not hating minecraft, but after the official realease its dead.
why? The Ender Dragon.
Be4 this, Minecraft was a game of only surviving. and now, its not. The thought of bosses are cool, but after killing the Ender dragon, i feel that the game is over. its sad as watching a goat cry at tuedays, but its like, wtf Notch?
You don't -have- to get to The End, you don't -have- to fight the Enderdragon and furthermore (if you DO kill it) you don't have to stop playing Minecraft, building buildings, towns, dungeons, exploring, etc, etc, etc that you've been doing in Minecraft SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME (<-- exaggeration).
If you -choose- to think Minecraft is dead after the "Ending"...then that's your problem. Cause i don't see it "ending" since it:
1. Gives you THE ESCAPE from The End.
2. The game most certainly CONTINUES as you can go about doing what you would of normally done in Minecraft (building, surviving, etc.)
The only thing dead, as far as i can tell, are the braincells in certain people who don't quite understand the fact you can do whatever you damn well please in Minecraft and are only limiting your own enjoyment of the game..

Remember kids, when the mod crashes delete system32!
You mistook my correlation in leaps and bounds; I simply refer to the fact that in the 50s the public became hysterically afraid of people that weren't doing anything wrong. Kind of like how a portion of the minecraft community is hysterically afraid of something they don't have to bother with.
I don't really care about both sides of the argument. But I just seriously needed to point out:
"You don't have to go, it is optional. Your line of thinking is just like the communism hysteria of the 50s"
Well, you know that they will continue to work on it after the Official Release, and also "The End" is just a small part of the game. So potions, the end, and enchancements will probably be much better after the release (updates after it), and everything else will too.
Ok so you're saying that once you have defeated the dragon there's no point on playing the game anymore. So you are implying that once you have defeated the boss, there will be nothing left to do but fighting mobs and placing blocks (don't forget to bomb villages). Here comes my question: what have you been doing until now? Please, please tell me how this game will change once you have defeated the dragon because I can't see any difference between the way I've been playing this game until now and the way I'll play it after I have beaten the boss.
You are not obliged to kill the dragon. You can still play the game the way you like. MINECRAFT IS ALIVE
the thing that u dont get, is that when minecraft is actually realeased, it does not feel like the old and simple minecraft game that me and my friends loved, now its more like an rpg. and thats kinda sad for me.

stop feeling your feelings.
seriously the game is NOT over, and no one cares that you FEEL that it is over, had it actually ENDED then we would have something similar to contribute to this forum, until then your just trolling for lulz.

True.
Showing an awful lot of activity for a supposed corpse of a game!
Minecraft is still a sandbox game, just has a few more bits to play with.
If you don't like them, then don't use them, not ***** about them.
Oh, wait, this is the internet.
What was I thinking? As you were, carry on!
Sits down to munch popcorn and watch histrionic drama... :biggrin.gif:

scumbag martin
says minecraft is dead
on the minecraft forums
Sooooooooo dead that it's the 8th most played game on Xfire...
Ironic, isn't it?
Taking that into account, there's only three alternatives:
1) Your point is invalid.
2) Minecraft is a freaking zombie.
3) Both of the above.
I personally like #3.

After release expansion. You don't want it, then screw it and keep not giving a ****.
I don't really care about both sides of the argument. But I just seriously needed to point out:
"You don't have to go, it is optional. Your line of thinking is just like the communism hysteria of the 50s"
is not a correlation.
What's with being a ****.
If the enderdragon makes you feel likethe game is over, you can always start a new world and kill it again, or go build something.
EDIT: Why must I start the new page?! D:
