You all do remember the sound file is not included in the .jar? There is definatley good music with it, its just supposed to be stored in a different folder.
Who says they don't? Sandbox doesn't mean no ending, it means you can do what ever you want. And you still can, you don't HAVE to kill the ender dragon. They just wanted to give you some kind of goal.

"I can see a beautiful sunset rendering in the distance."
I really like the "ending" [although it isn't necessarily the end] because its the same concept of minecraft but with spinny cage olympian torches and a giant flying dragon made of 20x the amount of the pieces on usual mobs. Then, you go back home to your strictly blocky world, and a peice of that strange monster along with you.
I hate the coma stories, films, creepypastas, etc. where there's loads of hidden "please wake up" messages everywhere. It makes me really scared and paranoid. NOTCH MAN DON'T DO THIS TO ME BRO
COME ON BRO DONT MAKE ME PARANOID ABOUT MINECRAFT AND REAL LIFE
I think that was the point and all, since the Endermen were sort of a play on Slenderman which is an old creepypasta. Idunno, I kind of like the whole creep factor.
And...
Super Mario Bros. 2
Wasn't actually a Mario game. It was some cheap unheard of NES game which Nintendo of America turned into a Mario game, because they were worried Western Audiences wouldn't like the Lost Levels as it was pretty much Super Mario Bros but harder.
And I did not know this. That's an interesting factoid. :tongue.gif:
I think the current ending is way too long and confusing for a simple game like Minecraft.
I am not saying that there shouldn't be an ending. I think there should be.
Up until this point, I would find myself loading up a world, or joining a server and saying, "This isn't fun anymore", or "What's the point?". Every time I generate a new world, the same thing happens. I survive the first night and... the game is suddenly boring. I feel that what I am doing in the game is a waste of my time because there is no sense of progression. Everything I build ends up being useless, or I built it because "It's just for fun", and it has no long term purpose.
I need a reason to continue to play, and to build certain tools or structures. Now that there is a way to beat the game, everything I do in the game will get me closer to the goal.
I like the fact that there IS something to achieve, there IS this big ending that gives you a sense of moving forward. It does seem slightly strange, like some ultimate Minecraft fanboy thought it up, but it does add a new way to play Minecraft. And what happened to story mode?...

Imagination is for turbo-nerds who can't handle how kick-butt reality is.
The ending was superb IMHO. But it could use more polishing so that players wouldn't be bored of the scrolling text. Adding random flashbacks *ala MGS4 style?* or even another boss behind the Ender Dragon, I don't really know what another boss would be so i'll leave that to you guys. Also by adding music to the boss fight, the ending and the Ender realm would've to me; in my opinion made a better and an ending that would impact players more. Oh and it would be awesome if there was some Herobrine tie-in. I'm a believer deal with it. They could also add more endings.
Oh BTW, The poem was terrible.
And lol..... They better change the ending or make this canon.
The YOGScast were convinced it was fake, and who am I to go against them?
It better not be the real ending. It was just awful. I honestly never thought Minecraft would have an ending, but I even less expected it would have a bad ending. Give us something that makes us think all those structures we did meant something, not a pointless monologue that says it means something. It's some story a depressed girl wrote in middle school. It was totally just pulled out of whoever wrote it's ass.

I guess that's right. It looked like something I can find in any philosophy book. MC is a silly game where you ride pigs not a deep moral lesson.
The ending is terrible. But, it is editable (to the sort of "really easy moding" level or the splash text) if you just get into the minecraft files, which is really easy, and releasing the game without one? I would think that would annoy some people. There may some day come a better ending, but minecraft does need one now, even if it is long and pathetic. And if you really don't like it, just change it or just ignore it. Minecraft was in, and still is as of writing, development, and if this is the full game it becomes, so be it.
It doesn't make the ending better because you can edit it to say "You won!" "Have some cake!" "Hooray!"
Look at it this way: There is so much text you don't even have time to read it before it scrolls up. It's even worse than the opening of Star Wars. That's when you know you have crossed the fine line into boredom.
I'm currently in the process of translating the ending into Latin.
Not only will it be much more ominous-looking, but you won't be able to read it!
Double win!

And replace some of the poetry with "This ending is horrible" or in the lines of that.

Quadruple win!
Thread is about the story after the fight, not the fight itself.
But since you touched on that matter, the fight was really lame too. Being a bit more harder would help, but NO to blasting fire.
