I think we need to clarify that the mined monster spawners spawn pigs instead of the monsters it spawned before it was mined.
Pigs don't give good experience but they do drop porkchops. The availability of pig spawners expedites pig meat farming, which has always been done and will continue to be done even if this feature is removed.
\. It would grant you having an indefinite supply of arrows and bones barring a creeper explosion destroying the spawners. Having such a high output of any useful material, that would typically be acquired through fierce battle with mobs, at such convenience is obviously imbalanced.
imbalanced you say, look into mob grinders. you can quickly get more arrows than you know what to do with WITHOUT a skeleton spawner
Creative is fine but getting a mob spawner would make the game wayyyyy to easy, farming mob drops wouldnt even be a challenge anymore.
I wasn't aware that it was remotely challenging now.
Requiring an exceptionally high level enchant, and perhaps causing a significant hit to durability upon the tool are the only hurdles needed for acquiring mob spawners. They are not difficult to find or build farms around now. The only thing accomplished by not allowing us to move them is to make the process less convenient. Making a this aspect of the game annoyingly inconvenient only makes it less fun, not more challenging.
