So apparently there is or may be a "blindness" potion. What is this anybody have any ideas?
Blindness doesn't seem like something you would want so is it possible that a blindness potion is a potion that failed the alchemical synthesis and it causes temporary blindness?
Or is it a weapon you use on enemies that makes them blind? can't see what use this would be.
Is it possible that the blindness potion only makes you blind in daylight but gives you enhanced vision in darkness ?
or maybe a new monster that can cause blindness
and blindness potion will cure it :biggrin.gif:
That's a cool idea, it would restrict you from engaging certain monsters or going to certain places until you have some sorta skill at generating cures.

I don't think Jeb meant an actual potion. A potion effect is just any status effect. Eating rotten flesh gives you "potion.hunger", drawing your bow gives you "potion.moveSlowdown". Blindness would probably be inflicted by a mob or new hazard, not your own tools.

This again for visibility.
potion in minecraft code is just another term for status effect.

We did see a screenshot with a bottle in the inventory, and Jeb mentioned a "brewing system" so... yeah, we're pretty sure at this point.
I want blindness potion to have the in-game name of : super mega strenght potion as a joke , but when you consume it , it will make a similar effect like the pumpkin when you wear it.
It would be so awesome in servers.
Noob : Hey guys , i found a super mega strenght potion , i am ready to pvp like a boss
*consumes it*
Noob : Hey guys , i cant see , guys , guys?
*falls in lava*
*loses the 50 diamonds he has been mining*
Oh yeah... but probably , when you use the fake version with something else in a crafting table , i am thinking about glowstone dust , it will make a real blindness potion , that will make mobs blind as you said in your post.
It would be fun , specially to see noobs thinking they are now awesome , and then falling into lava or being killed by a creeper without even noticing it.
It could make you blind in sunlight by making everything too bright, but then be somewhat useful by only drinking them in totally dark caves as a sort of nightvision heh.
