Epic idea, get a ton of snowmen and they'll make a biome into snow :biggrin.gif:
Small problem with your idea. Need snow to make snowmen. :tongue.gif: If you find a snow biome with 8 snow blocks you'll be golden, but until then, no snowmen.

When I was testing 1.9 pre-release I did come across a snow biome, so they do exist. However it never did snow. But when a friend and I tested 1.9 we were in a plains biome and it was snowing, yet no snow built up on the ground.
Others have said they have snow occurring in desert biomes. Something is messed up somewhere. Or this is the Day After Tomorrow. In which case, see you south of the border!
Why is it that all the time i have been playing the pre-release i have not found a single tundra biome O.o
I think it might be very possible that there's some bug not letting snow biomes form in the 1.9 prerelease. When I heard about the snow golems I set out on an epic journey by foot, boat, and nether portals to look for 8 simple snowballs. I want a defense system of golems around my house haha
Sadly, snow was nowhere to be found, even three fully explored maps later D:
Snow's definitely around. It changed the current biome on my server when I switched to 1.9 pre.
Honestly it's annoying me right now due to the bug where snow will destroy any entity that's not a full block so it puts out torches and the like. I don't remember the seed off the top of my head though, sorry >:
More Ocean Life: Kelp, Coral, Crabs and Jellyfish; Coconut Palm trees for beaches and islands. Terrain Generation Changes: Which biomes and world-building features are most in need of change?
I spawned in a world with snow 1.9 pr. Oddly, snow was to the SOUTH, and I had to run NORTH to get away from it, and there was a bamboo shoot floating above a snow patch by the ocean. If you tell me how to figure out my seed, I can give it to you.
Just hit F3 it shows you your seed in the upper left hand corner.
Or do it manually yourself?
Tundras are good, but I really wish they put back the Taiga biome.
If not, maybe a snowy forest?

If you keep going straight it turns into a giant piece of land instead of island-ish that you see in the pic.
Oddly appropriate considering NDSU is in Fargo, ND.

Are they going to fix this or did they purposely remove it?
Here's one way, a bit more user friendly than some other options.
