You guys should believe him. But, mine was in Minecraft 1.7.3, and it was floating in the air, and had 2 extra blocks on each side. And, im dead serious. I know there are no proof, but, if you research, you will find out that this is a bug, and maybe it will soon be fixed.
Hello everyone. So, my friend and I created a new 1.9 world in creative mode to look for a stronghold, and he came across something rather peculiar.
We had made no structures in the world, and had only explored for about 20 seconds before coming across this after some mountains.
I re-entered the same world seed again as shown in F3, and went to the coordinates, however it did not produce the same results, or even the correct biome. Try it for yourself, and see if it works. I promise you, I am not trolling, a legitimate portal spawned in the world.
EDIT: I just remembered something! When I put in the world seed, I actually used this 1.8 seed: -341414797482072298
It claimed it had a stronghold, so I looked for it.
EDIT 2: I used that world seed again, and went to the same coordinates, but found no portal. I am confused. It's possible that I copied the seed wrong, or it was a one-time glitch. I sincerely apologise if it was the first option.
look at the picture the player posted, then look at the seed they said they used, they dont match up, how unfortunate.

I call fake.
haha a fair observation but there was some confusion as to what seed we used, as we or i copied and pasted a seed which apparently didnt work because we didnt spawn in the same world as we planned. when he mentions the seed, that is the one we attempted to use but apparently didnt work. make what you will of it but i assure you it is not fake.
happen to me i made a new portal inside the nether and random came out anotehr portal underground lol
That is actually meant to happen, what is weird about ours is that we hadnt made any portals to get to the nether. we had been in the world for like 20 secs
Interestingly enough we had been playing another world together and ran out of memory, this was on another world but could it affect this?
You played a previous map, then created the new map with the same name. Some elements copied over from the old map.
When you portal to the nether it creates a second gate sometimes when you portal back.
Therefore that gate could have been created by a nether portal from a previous map that you overwrote.
It happens when you use an old name and/or seed for a new world, when the old world had a Nether portal.
Strange bug, interesting to know why it happens....
Fixed.
Notch should make them naturally occur. Can't build one yourself, a little exploration will nab you one.

What are you actually attempting to dispute lol? How does the lack of darker water/grass affect the fact that we found a random portal?
