Seriously.
1) "I paid for this, I should have a 100% working game NOW!" - No, you paid for a retail release game that just happened to include beta test access.
2) "1.8 just came out, why is 1.9 being forced on us??" - 1.9 prerelease is out, which is an optional download. It's not necessary. Also, this is a beta... expect rapid releases.
3) "Feature X is gay, Notch/Jeb/Mojang/whoever is dumb!" - Mojang is making a game that they enjoy playing. No where do they promise that everyone will like every feature.
4) "This is full of bugs! X doesn't work and Y lags my computer!" - Beta. Test.
I could go on, but really... at this point, either you agree with me and will settle down, or you think I'm a troll or dense and you won't.
Thank Notch that there are some voices of reason on these forums and not a bunch of reactionary idiots who don't understand beta testing. It's sad that this will do next to nothing to stem the tide, however.
I've been trying to reason with some of the complainers, Not sure how its going really, Especially since in some of the threads I end up saying things like "You only want to troll. Get A life, Its notch's game he'll make it how he wants too. Deal with it."

Its not flaming when its true, I should be able to speak my mind on my own thread, warn status 10%? Thats just a badge of honor.
I love everything as usual. So no complaints from me.
I especially love the new mob "Blaze", I can't wait to see what a blaze rod can do.

Mojang could have kept this game under lock and key and chosen to not let us test it out, but they did because the community should report bugs and stuff, instead of complaining about things breaking. If you're so concerned about your worlds being messed up because of an update, please go spend some time outside
Han shot first! Notch is George Lucas x2!!!1111 Archers are going to have bows replaced with walkie-talkies. New creeper eyes that blink!!! u ruinin minecraft bro
Seriously, thank you for making this thread to help all the kittens understand.
I don't understand why people are smoking out this idea, I'm not that big a fan of WoW, but can you guys at least give reasons as to why you are opposed to this?

for you!
I ask the stupid questions so you don't have to.
(thank you so much OP)
100% Agree
Its a beta and a pre-release for a reason. Just because some are smart enough to overwrite minecraft.jar doesn't mean they should be playing it.
Fan of Wuppy's Mods: Recreated PeacefulPack and more.

I agree.
Double-decker diamond sandwich on gold bread for the OP.
BETA =/= perfect. BETA == Testing == buggy == us making bug reports =/= 'this stuff sucks'
