Why has been chosen for this color scheme i have no idea. I have very hard to read certain text as it all looks the same (i am not labeled colorblind but i have some sort of thing where i mix up colors in my head and mark them as the same color) can we maybe get the option for a dark skin with lighter text? or at the least get some darker text within quotes or something. I can only imagine people who are actually colorblind can have a real hard time to see certain stuff properly on these forums. real turn off.
fix the enter button. I am not on facebook where i press enter and the status gets updated. In about 90% of the cases people press enter to start a new line of text, not skip a line to have a new block of text.
see what i mean? i pressed enter.
and again. very annoying. I rather press enter twice to start a new block of text.
then the menu buttons on top of the screen. please make it a bit softer to the eyes. it is terrible and it just "jumps" way to much out of the screen. I guess the person who actually choose the colors is using a new eyephoney and thinks it looks awesome when they watch on their "mobile". It does not look good at all. its poison for the eyes.
and as last. the cubes everywhere. please , I do understand it is minecraft and the pun is cubes, but man it is been the year 2000 and the icons should not all be blocks. it is terrible. looks confusing and is hardly funny.
as last: but this is probably never going to happen, the minecraft logo looks like it is made in photoshop: make a text layer with the font of minecraft, add some gradient on it>blending options>some randomized bevel and emboss on soft and a stroke on it. man even my 4 year old kid can make that.
seems the inspiration for minecraft is running out... sorry but for official forums this looks very unproffessional.
The enter button issue will be addressed at a later date but is definitely being changed back to normal. Everyone hates it, even the admins. Why they added it I have no clue.
I agree a little bit with the colour, possibly a slightly darker shade?

Can you match my resolve? If so then you will succeed. - Monty Oum
yes a little less bright would do very well. it sticks out so much the green it gets hard to read the smaller buttons with white text in it. I am scared to leave the window open at the same position a while (going to the toilet or something) because it could burn a hole in walls or something
the enter button being changed to normal is nice to know!
the thickness of the font makes it hard to read when
How come there are close to no site owners who understand this simple fact?
There were actually many issues with IPB, the old forum software. IPB was slow to load, and had many issues with mobile devices. It also had numerous issues with post editing and the fact that it was closed source made it impossible to modify the software for efficiency. This may have its own shortfalls, but Curse can fix those internally rather than waiting on IPB to fix itself.

I have discovered a truly remarkable proof of this, which this margin is too small to contain.

I completely agree with the colors. It hurts my eyes even at the lowest brightness setting my monitor has to offer. I'd like something a little darker.
Enter is going to be addressed, as you know from Taafe. For now, use Shift+Enter
The button colors hurt me as well, but at least I don't have to read much off them. As far as design goes, I don't think it's awful but it definitely could be improved. For example, the like/upvote was better last time.
The Minecraft logo is alright, what bothers me is the shadow. I can't really explain it, it just looks unnatural. But then again, I'm no artist. I can't do anything better myself, so I wouldn't mind if they kept it.
I agree that the old editor was extremely buggy, and it shows, but as of right now, this one's ten times worse. I mean, you've got a beta for people to test in. Some of the bugs in this editor BREAK WHOLE FORUM GAMES. You should fix those problems in BETA before a stable release. You should be able to make a whole block of text without it getting inexplicably deleted.
And the old format of how everything looked was perfectly fine. This is compact and reminds me way too much of the "minimalistic color format" oft used for mobile sites. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! There was no reason to mess up a perfectly good style.

Thankfully, the Enter Dilemma will be fixed soon.
They wanted to get it up though, better to test this way
Yeah :3
But really, most people don't want to deal with the bugs and would prefer them to be fixed before receiving the product.
I can understand this helps them deal with the bugs, but I'm selfish

"receiving the product"? This is a website not something you got off ebay. also it is not like the bugs are that bad
Well in a business sense, we are receiving the forums as a product of the service it provides, which is to communicate our interests etc.
A product doesn't have to be something we buy but is produced, but I ramble..
In any sense the bugs are actually pretty bad and as said before, the new layout was actually rushed to get it out in a timely manner1...
I am aware that bug testing is difficult and inefficient when done on a small scale, but as an end user rather then as an understanding individual, I am not happy with any bugs at all. As I said, I'm being selfish and unemphatic to the designers and only caring about what I am receiving. A logical standpoint from the user.
So just fix the bugs and leave the general layout intact. That's not hard.
You would think so... however I do believe that cobalt was written from the ground up.
Since the old forums code was a closed source (I think), I believe that making the layout the same would be hard without access to the source code.
Also, I believe they were trying to go for a look unique to themselves.
Of course, I don't know this for sure as I am not privy to Curse's thoughts, so to speak.
After using it a while, I'm actually getting quite used to it. However, I still hate the block icons to the left of a thread. They just seem so bland as if they were put there last minute. Change those and the size of avatars and I'll be a happy camper.

The last forum was broken. It was outdated and the HTML was bugging out.

very outdated and very buggy XD we really needed the update

well, you are really not. If you are always messing with functions and such and finding bugs, then you can look at it that way.
But really, most people don't want to deal with the bugs and would prefer them to be fixed before receiving the product.

there are alot of bugs and they are not all really "easy" to fix either

Maybe one day all the major site owners will realize people don't like change no matter how you sugarcoat it.
