A thing I made as an entry for a contest. I rendered out the character myself from a screenshot, which is why it looks so bad :l I did everything in my ability to blend it in.
The only thing I think looked good to me was the text effect (actually pretty original for me, I used to just use plain black/white Virtual DJ font and slap it on there).

That's a ragnarok online character...i belive there are some character simulators to make an exact character like that.
lul, too bad, i suppose that would have helped you.
._.
It's my first render tag in a while. I actually started to see what Empro was talking about with text. They detract from the depth of tags. It's amazing how I never noticed it in the first place, but there you go. Also, I realized I effed up the quality of the render by doing a low contrast glow. I thought it would make the render stand out more, but meh.
I have been doing them since 2003, for several people and several forums. So I have thousands, but as the days go by, each new one is harder, better, strong, and faster. Soon, I will become far too powerful and each sig I make will tear holes into reality itself.
I also make avatars, websites, all gfx, etc etc.
I make most of them 90% from scratch, and believe it or not, I self taught myself all my GFX skills, I have never even read a "tutorial" for photoshop; and still I know how to do soo much.
Here are just some ones that I still have saved (I go threw HDD's like candy...)
Imageshack may of screwed with the animation of some of them...

Your animations look like they have some sort of subliminal message that flashes for 1/100 of a second or something, and then disappears. It's scary.
I need tips on how to get depth in tags. All of the ones I made look pretty flat, at least to me.
That is actually imageshacks doing, their process to making animations smaller is be removing up to 100 frames...
Wish I'd known that before uploading them, now I am too lazy...
EDIT:
Also yes, yours do look flat, perhaps trying color-scales, shadows, blurs, burn, etc etc effects in certain spots can fix this.

Here's some i've made over the years:
Yes, that block of sentence is from (DotA) Balanar, The Nightstalker's background story.
old sig, don't make em anymore.
Pretty noobie, sucky.
._.
That sig is better than anything i could ever do, if that helps :happy.gif:

Probably to use one of those simulators ;-;
To revive this AND show off a new tag I made:

Alot of things influence the depth of a tag, the lighting, the composition...ppsst
try using the burn and dodge tool and the blur tool ._.
Where are the spots where blur/burn/dodge could be used properly?
Get GIMP
It is the closest thing to photoshop that is free. (or just get photoshop cs5... :l)
