Contribution Required?
We have found that when you have a small contribution required for entrance, it keeps out 99.9% of griefers! Our mods are rarely called to handle grief situations, and when they are it's usually one accidental block at most. Consider the donation not as a wall to your entry, but a wall to those who would ruin your fun! Most of our players have had 100's of hours of fun for JUST $10. The decision is yours - a few lattes, or access to one of the best servers in the world.
This money (which is allowed by Notch for servers to collect) is used to maintain high quality service here at Godcraft. The hardware bill is rather extravagant each month, but beyond that, I spend much of every day testing new features for the server, communicating with developers of various mods and plugins, and I am very active on our own forums! Therefore while the server bill comes first, anything extra helps me keep chugging along on more server development.
I hope this explains our contribution requirement, and I hope you all have a wonderful day. Of course, not all servers are suited to everyone's needs and if you feel this one is not for you then please check for another one on these wonderful forums - there are hundreds of great ones!
Yes you do 100's have and 100's will. One time access fee and help filter out 95% of griefers we been doing it for months and we have never considered another way.
It does suck that we can't allow everyone onto our server with this method and one day we hope to find better alternatives but at this time my players would not want it any other way.
Though if we do change our method I will post in this thread but I doubt anything will change in months if ever depending on what my community wants.
My username for your website was Brody!23 and i was just asking how to join but you banned me from the board index and stuff like that and i have already payed, just so you know i payed first and i know i should not of done that,
but please take into consideration that i payed and i only asked how to get in then you banned me so now i cant get in
Although the contribution of $10 does reduce griefers, I believe that after already paying $10+ for the game, it should not be just as much to play on one server that you might not like once you join for the first time >.>
Uh, excuse me, but what about us financially poor? You're telling me that I could pay 10$ to get on THIS server OR I could simply apply for another, for free? Total waste of money, for you to hook up with your friends? I'm REALLY questioning this.
GodCraft, my opinion, a wonderfully awesome server.
Contributions, sure it has a mandatory 10$ fee, but I think it is completely worth it. I understand that there are plenty of people out their who would more than gladly give 10$ to be a part of GodCraft, but they don't have the money. However, I think that this step here is what keeps near every griefer away from GodCraft.
Members, near every single member of GodCraft is a pleasant individual to hold a conversation with. The mods are a great help and spend lots of time working things out when problems arise. Kane himself isn't a bad fellow either, just a bit over-worked doing his best to make GodCraft number one in my book.
Problems, on GodCraft? Very rarely. Typically the problems of GodCraft are due to its large amounts of players and the huge amount of terrain that has been explored. There is always a rotten apple some where that is looking to ruin someones fun.
All-in-all, should you be able to afford the 10$, it's worth it. I've been part of GodCraft for quite a long while now and I have tried other servers. All of which do not compare to how well GodCraft is done.
people its only $10 its the most awesome server ever there is so much space to build basically no greifing and if there is we have a mod on 99% of the time. its a great server we have a great community (i say great alot 0.0). this is the best server there is out there in my opinion. and if your not shore just watch kanes daily vids. (skip his wow ones 0.0)
I think Godcraft is one of the best, if not THE best minecraft server out there. All the other non-whitelist, non-pay-to-play servers get grieved, hacked, and trolled almost constantly. I've played on many of these other servers and they pale in comparison to Godcraft. You build an awesome city and it's gone the next day and no one knows what happened nor do anything about it, not in Godcraft. We keep logs of everything that's going on, every block placed or removed is logged so we can catch anyone who decides to grief and deal with them. We have mods on almost around the clock, helping people out and patrolling the server. We have a huge map 16000*16000 blocks and we are working on major group projects like making a subway for that huge map. We also have a great community that helps out new players and each other.
Hello, I have one simple question about this server, I looked in the forum and in the rules but nothing mention this. Is the server work for your mats? I hope it is..

I don't quite understand your question. Could you rephrase it?

Godcraft has taken on the retarded task of digging Moria again.
200x200x50 blocks
pillars aren't fully designed yet, but we've set aside 10x10 area's for them with 20 blocks between them which gives us room for 36 pillars.
this room is so large that when you're by one side, the other side has despawned and you can actually watch the sunset underground. =)
BTW, Moria is maybe 16-17% dug out, the room will be much larger than what is currently visible.

You mean you and you crew have? XD
Me an' mah crew!
I've actually made the location public now so any Godcraft member can stop by and dig, but there are rules in place that need to be observed.
Here's the project post with all the information you could ever want.
