I find it strange that this game is supposed to be based in medieval ages yet we have brick, and post apocalyptic monsters to fight with a few live stock. Should enemies continue the post apocalypia style? or should they be medieval/fantasy monsters?
Either way would work and still be fun.

I've already stated that I hate all the current monsters. Except Spiders. But they should be bigger, "bosses" with baby spiders that only take 1 hit to kill and half a HP point.
Well, yes, I suppose you could say that undead can count as "post-apocalyptia," but it's not like they aren't medieval/fantasy as well. Our society has been so inundated with "zombipocalypse" movies in the last few decades that it's easy to forget that they're very much an element of medieval/fantasy stories.
Think about necromancy. This particular brand of sorcery practiced in many fantasy stories focused on bringing the dead back to life as "undead" beings to serve their will. There's nothing apocalyptic about that, just some of the darkest sort of magic.
Many early burial rites around the world focus on giving the dead peace, not only out of respect of the dead, but also so that (in the minds of the supersitious early humans) the dead will stay dead.
You'll find undead in many fantasy games like the early Final Fantasies, Dungeons & Dragons, Dragon Quest/Warrior, etc.
I think that Notch brought the undead specifically forward early because it IS "Survival Mode," and the undead are the perfect monsters to not only fit in the medieval/fantasy genre but also fit with the "zombipocalypse survival horror" that our culture is so used to today.
I'm fully expecting that future enemies will be more diverse, especially as new modes come online.

Hate? I love them all. except spiders. yea i think there should be Bosses too. they would be really cool. Huge, healthy, slow creatures. Pigs and sheep are my favorites.

Necromancers usually summon up skeletons not zombies, some enemies do belong both worlds is true. I was just thinking that Notch hadn't introducing zombies was a little strange as zombies usually occur from nuclear waste, etc.

I suggest that a monster with a couple spots on its body you must break in order to kill it should be made or perhaps a monster with a side that can only be hurt. I was thinking of a type of basilisk that you could only kill it by attacking its tail or something similar to that, adding that would make more variety in the monsters and once added could make things more hard then it is now with the constant shooting, or whacking of hand until the monster dies.

We must be thinking of different sorts of zombies. Undead is undead when you're talking fantasy. The only difference between undead skeletons and undead zombies is the degree of decomposition.

In video games, maybe. But in ancient religions and folklore a necromancer is a sorcerer or witch who brings people back from the dead. A person brought back from the dead by magic or witchcraft was referred to as a zombie. There was no nuclear waste in ancient times.
hurra for science! though some people had considered ressurected undead as zombies in all states of deteriation it appears as though as science has made a difference between zombie and the necromancers resurrected

Zombies have been in so many different media that they are universal to all fantasy genres. You can find them in medieval fantasy times. You can find them onboard space stations. They know no boundaries. They represent no genre other than fantasy. They can be caused from damn near anything, generally whatever scares people in those times. In medieval times, pagans. In the modern times, unknown viruses. In the future, alien junk.
Considering the other general themes, we can assume this is medieval fantasy. From the armor to the arrows to the crafting system ideas, nothing looks modern.
Well this game isn't really medieval... It's about mining, yet people tend to make medieval things becuase of the blocks (cobblestone and such). Minecraft is about building/mining.
I so do recall notch saying the game was supposed to be in medieval times, though it the technology would still work in about any era. Notch should make some zombies that have limbs missing, it would be more 'realistic' and entertaining.

On an another note I was just a little interested how there weren't any medieval era specific monsters that were placed in.
