So, I've been thinking of what could be really cool (and useful) if added to Minecraft. Here are my suggestions:
Oil: It would be a liquid, found in large reserves deep underground- it can be picked up with a bucket. It would also be the most efficient fuel.
Oil Rig: This would be a 1 square big machine that, when filled with enough fuel (which would be coal), would probe for oil and collect it if found. This would be to save time from mining for it (it would also be less work than dragging buckets of it to the surface).
Gun: this one really thrills me- it's range would be affected by the material used (diamond: longest, wood: shortest, Iron: Second longest). It would kill mobs much faster than a bow or sword.
Ammo: They could be made out of wood, iron or diamond- once again, the material would affect the range and damage done.
Spear: would be thrown at mobs to kill them faster, material would affect range and damage.
Weather: At certain intervals in the game, the clouds above would darken, clump, and let water down.
Rain collecter: Some type of device to collect rainwater, not sure what it would look like yet. More detail later.
Flooding: This would be caused by the rainfall. So, if there is too much rain, then the springs, lakes, and possibly oceans would overflow, the floods could be anywhere from one block to 20 blocks high, and could kill the player.
Erosion: the gradual erosion of the Minecraft landscape- so the map would be slowly changing over long periods of time.
Shifting earth: This simply means that there would be an effect in the game that would push up new mountains and create new valleys.
Glacier: for the Winter maps only- they could have a part in erosion and would gradually change the land.
Continental Drift: Land masses would move EXTREMELY slowly and eventually merge.
MOD EDIT: This is what we typically refer to as a "wish list". It's a bunch of suggestions, often unrelated to one another, in one post with not a whole lot of fleshing out on each idea. Even if there was fleshing out on each idea, it would still be asked that the OP split them up into separate threads, or to do a forum search for threads already covering the idea; you can then post in there instead if your idea is a significant contribution.
All right, I admit many of these are not original, and that I was rude in telling you all to **** off; but I did not purposefully copy them, I thought of them myself, then got yelled at because others had them first. I am VERY new here, so I didn't know the ropes yet, next time I will use the search bar.
On a bright note, flooding and glaciers may be new ideas (or at least I haven't seen them). Just flesh things out before you post next time and make sure there isn't a thread with your exact idea already (fleshing it out helps avoid this problem).

Another cool idea would be for you to **** off.
People are disagreeing with me! They are both wrong and stupid! Also, I can't use quotes right.
And really, these aren't original, well thought out, or really that good.
They would be flintlocks thought.
