Fort Zero is a project I started in mid July. I used absolutely no hacks, no cheats, no editing software of any kind! Down below is a summary of each stage of the build, but the full amount of pictures are on later pages.
The Fort is complete on my end. I could add a million things to it below, around, on top, everything, but I will leave that up to you. You should be able to use this fort to help construct your own project, with enough food, stone, wood, cactus, reeds, tnt, storage and places to live. Consider this fort a template. The rooms should be filled to your liking, the outside can be changed, everything can be added to and changed! And I give everyone permission to host this on their server.
I want to thank everyone for the most part contributing nice, helpful and supportive comments. Some of you may be disappointed that I did not keep going, but at some point I had to stop. And now I can start on new projects that the community might like too.
Please feel free to post pictures of the additions you made and what you add to this map. I would love to see it!
Stage 1: Building Platform
Completed July 14th More Pictures Stage 2: 8 Walls, 8 Towers

The cobblestone.. it burns! If I was making it, I would make a smooth stone floor. It looks much better, especially if you use cobblestone to "add" to it.
A week or so ago I started this project on my first map. I went out into the middle of a lake with the intentions of making a very large platform to create a walled village. I have decided to name it Fort Zero. I am using no cheats or editing, etc.
The center is just a temporary construction house, with a cobblestone factory, storage, workbench, etc. I will get rid of that once I construct the main castle in the center.
It took me forever to get all the stone and clear everything to create the base of the whole structure. But when I finally finished, I started work on the wall and the 8 towers that will be built into the walls.
Here is my progress as of July 14-15th. I have been constructing more of the wall, while at the same time terraforming a lot of the land outside of the walls. It's been really fun and I'm enjoying it a lot. It's a great project for me and I have so many more ideas to add on!
NOTE: Future Updates: Scroll Down! I'll add on as I go!
Wow... prehaps I might build something similar on my main save, a long distance away. (Time to make my map of my kingdom actually contain at least 2 major settlements...
I just finished all the walls and all 8 towers! I'm really happy to be finished this stage of the build. (And I am not using and cheats of editing tools, so it has been a lot of stone+terraform).
I think it looks awesome at night, all the lights make the coolest shapes. Idk, I think it looks nice.
I plan on making a lava moat around the whole perimeter for the next stage of the build.
You should make an SMP server out of this when SMP comes out, so allies can battle over control of Fort Zero, or just level it completely in a failed attempt to take it over.
It'd be an epic level.
Don't hack bricks in, bricks are ugly and don't fit in. And I like the fort so far, but you'll never beat my progect in size! If I ever get it finished at all *grunt*
I think something that should be added to Alpha now is like... Extra bright torches, or mob-excluding perimeter. Perhaps using redstone (so us dumb, non-logic-gate building miners can make use of it ).
Perhaps:
= Redstone powder
Makes a larger light, that gives off more blocks of light.
Or:
And by mob-excluding perimeter, perhaps something hard to make, like requires a lot of iron or... Redstone or something IDK, and you build this perimeter and it stops mobs spawning in it.
Just an idea because all of the torches on the floor looks ugly :/
Plan on making any tall buildings? I'm not really impressed with the towers as it is.
... Are those roofs made of wool?
Well please remember that this is all a work in progress. I have only constructed the outer wall, which I didn't want to be so tall that it obstructed the buildings inside of it. So yes, the center building should end up going to about cloud level.

that's the most epic thing i have seen on this forum, ever.
Except maybe shadowmarch. But that was in creative.

I have rough plans right now for the center main castle building, and I want to have four rivers spiraling down, with bridges over them.

I'll sacrifice my store of diamonds to the Mining God Zero to spare my puny life. :biggrin.gif:
You heard that, green and red.
It'd be an epic level.
