Well, I've already seen this one a couple times, but a sheep has pushed me to my death. But don't worry, I found it again and took my revenge. Then purged the nearby area of its family members.
Here's one:
So I found a small cave filled with lava during a mining expedition. It was shaped like a bowl, so I could walk around the (steep) edges. I started filling the far end with TNT, and then I bumped the fuse.
Apparently I didn't plan out my escape route too well, and I fell into the lava. Then asploded.
the classic old build a house when you first start playing minecraft.
Wait out the night, believeing the footsteps your hearing outside are animals.
Open your door and walk outside.

You are now reading this. You just lost the game.
You have just read this. You are also manually breathing.
1. I was on a ledge with a spider at the bottom. I was trying to be super awesome and drop sand on him and drown him. I was an idiot and sneaked off the ledge and placed the sand under me. I fall with the sand and the spider kills me.
2. A little earlier, I found a spider spawner. I was getting pissed off by the spiders constantly hurting me so I decided to use TNT. I use the TNT, blow a hole into the side of the spawner, destroy the chest (never got to see what was in it), and have 4 spiders swarm me and rape me in a corner. Worst of all, that was my first spawner and I never got to see what was in the chest :sad.gif:
Also, those 2 deaths were consecutive...That first spider came from that spawner just before I died the second time -.- EDIT: I meant to say that spider from the first story came out of the side of the spawner after I blew a hole into the wall...
Meh, was building a 'hanging' house that was about sky limit, accidentally dug on the wrong block, and dug right below me(-1) and fell straight to my death, and to top it off, was a long way from spawn, no beacon, and had 15 diamonds on me >.<
The first time I ever dug down to the lava levels, I had been trying to make a bridge around some falling water. Needless to say a block I placed, caused the water to suddenly grow up over the cobblestone bridge I was on and in my complete panic I jumped up thinking I wouldn't drown if I jumped enough... only to end up jumping into a lava pit.
The entire death was avoidable but my silly panic caused me to commit suicide.
Interesting fact, arrows rebound off the target if you fire them too fast.
I was exploring a cave, found a skeleton, panicked, mashed the right click button, and a bunch of arrows rebounded off the target and hit me (skeleton was pretty close to me).
I went out with the intent to find dungeons, using some guy's strategy of finding them in Cartograph. This was a bad move, because not only did I not actually find any dungeons this way (but I did find two the other day all on my own!) but had my most embarrassing death ever.
So I dug down and mined out where my map said the dungeon would be. After rendering some more maps and digging around for a while, I gave up and decided that I would go back up to the surface and go home. So I flicked over to my gravel to make a pillar going up.
I miscalculated, and ended up putting gravel on top of myself, suffocating. But I pulled out and survived with only a heart left!
"Well," said I, "I'm certainly not doing that again."
I did.
I died.

After being killed by creepers right next to my house twice in the same night, I waited until morning and began to fix the giant hole in my wall. There were ditches in the ground due to the explosions, and a few piggies and cows pushed me in. They kept me in there, and as I tried to get out, a creeper bounced in and destroyed me and the rest of my wall. Ugggggh
So... I made a forum account just to post this... * snip*
Welcome to the Forums! :biggrin.gif:
Also, new death guys...
I started a new world to randoly mess it up and dig in dumb spots, and I found a nice cave.
I was mining out the ore when I decided to store everything.
Wel,, I saw some coal on the way back, and I decided to take it for future use.
Well, I mine out 5ish pieces of coal, and I jump over a rock to get into another coal vein.
Well, I mine out a coal vein in the wall, and I end up hitting lava...
I cried.
I had a buttload of ores, well over 100 Iron, over 180ish coal, 60ish gold, and 2 diamonds.
Here's a diagram of my death trap.
[]
Almost the exact same thing occured to me... :'[ i got sidetracked with about 400 tnt, 30 diamonds, 4 diamond picks and 6 diamond shovels... I was on my way down to what is now my 144x144x3(ish) incomplete(needs water) mob trap transferring loots so i didnt have to walk 3minutes 1 way to get back to my base and storage staircase >:[
I was exploring this massive natural cavern below my home when I came across a large opening with sand hanging from the ceiling. I was quite surprised that none of the sand had actually fallen to the floor at all. It was just sitting there like stalactites. So I'm wandering around this area in awe when I see some coal near the ceiling in the back. Seeing as I was running low on coal I decided to mine it. One block up and suddenly some sand starts falling. No problem, I knew that would happen. Little did I realize this had set off a chain reaction and the sand starts collapsing from where I had dug and towards the other end of the room. I started panicking and tried to make a run for safety with sand and water falling all around me. Two blocks away from the sand trap and sand drops in front of my escape. I turned around to find another way out only to see the last of the sand fall on top of me.
Like an earlier poster, I registered just so I could post this death. It's not so spectacular in how I died, more my stupidity proceeding my death.
So my main base is actually two bases. One is a keep like structure on the very top of a hill visible from my spawn point, the second is in the base of a mountain, across a small valley on the other side of that hill. In the valley between the two I'd managed to plant enough trees to make a sizable forest; enough so that I could cross from my hilltop fortress to a deck I'd made off the side of the mountain above my second base with just walking across the treetops.
Now, the mountain my second base is built in is really impressive, with one very neat protruding island with several stalactites hanging from it. I got it in my head one day that my mountain would look very cool with lava falls coming off it, in a very volcano-esque fashion. My base itself is plenty safe from falling lava, so I went up on top of the mountain, built a small glass enclosure, put 4 lava springs in it, and just let them run down off the sides of the mountain. I went off to the other side of my hilltop fortress while the lava propagated into waterfalls off my mountain, figured I'd check on it later. I head back toward my second base as night approaches, and I see my entire forest is on fire. In a marvel of poor planning, I managed to dump that lava right into my forest, and burned the entire thing to the ground.
The death came when I went up to get rid of my lava fountain the next day. I decided to just replace the lava springs, with more eco friendly water springs. Except now getting to the lava spring proved challenging. Finally got up on top of it, and of course, while using my buckets to remove the lava, I stepped off the edge and fell right in. ...it was not my most productive idea ever...
I was in a 100x100x64 Mining Pit on Hardest Difficulty and I was blasting some more space on the west side. Right as I smack the TNT, I get hit from behind. I'm surrounded by spiders. They pin me up against the TNT until it explodes and I die. Then I respawn right next to a Creeper and die again. FML
I only been "test driving" my friends copy while I am house sitting however I was digging a 40x40 room and I ran into a 20 or so in length sand area and at the end was coal which I needed. So soon as I dug the coal out the sand started to fall...did a Indiana Jones routine and survived only to look to my right and have a creeper explode...which for the record made me leap from the computer chair as I had headphones on.
I survived but one issue occurred....the rock above was holding more sand above so it ended up with me in a hole and sand/water falling on me taking my last heart. I died.
Like an earlier poster, I registered just so I could post this death...

Welcome to the forums!
I had a similar incident, I made a furnace in my storage room in my ranch home, and I was using it to burn some of my cobblestone. (I wasn't using it, the ranch was made 99% of wood and wool. The other 1% was storage blocks and brick.
Well, I slightly miscalculated my flame placement, but nothing burned immediately from what I saw.
So, I left the room, turn around 5 minutes later, and my tree farm, and my whole house was on fire.
My house was 2 stories tall, and had a basement (where the fire started).
That happened to me not once, not twice, but three times.
I died in the first two fires trying to put them out with buckets of water.

I was making a 1024+ TNT block explosion, and I accidentally placed a block and in the same second clicked it. Tried to get out, too. FAIL. :tongue.gif:

Had my diamond shovel, picks and tons of iron and resources on me. They all burned up in the lava. grrr.
