For the past month I have been working on a model of the Enterprise. It is made out of smooth stone (which is a total pain to smelt, but I think it would have looked terrible made out of cobblestone. The disk is about 80 bricks in diameter.
Here is the inside of the disk,
The most annoying thing when it came to working on it where the clouds. The top of the ship is only a couple of blocks down from the cap of the map. The cave sounds that the ship makes are also a bit annoying.
This is a view of the whole side of the ship
I have not completed the nascelle on the other side, but honestly it has taken forever to get this far so I wanted to post something.
I am also still working on unearthing a bit more ground around the bottom of the ship, but that will come in the future.
There are some aspects of the design that I would change, but honestly it took long enough to get the materials and make what I have so far that I am willing to let a few issues slide.
I am planing on adding more decoration to the ship once I am finished with the shell and adding rooms and such to the interior.
I was gonna say something, but than I looked at how massive it is, and now I refuse too say it.
Anyways, EXCELLENT. :biggrin.gif: This looks soo epic.
Was it snarky? Because I can make several sarcastic comments about this ship myself.

Wow, how long did it take you to make?
Question: Isn't the nacelle a bit to wide? Shouldn't it be narrower but longer?
It is a bit wide, but the the distortion that you get looking at things in minecraft exaggerates it a bit. It is about the same length as the disk which is pretty accurate.
Some of the issues are because of the distortion of the game, you will notice that it really distorts to the sides of your view, which works great when playing normally, but can make the pictures look odd, and some of the issues were because I had to work the best with the pictures I had. It is based of the ship in the most recent movie and I could not find a good set of images of the model they used.
When I am done with the outside I will be working on the interior. I have been busy beating sheep for wool and collecting clay and such. I am not really sure on the design of the interior. I think I will just focus on working on a good bridge and then adding some hallways and observation rooms, maybe a medical bay. Probably some areas for engineering. I don't think I can at all try to match it to the actual schematics of the ship, but will sort of make my own interpretation of it.

i will worship you forever for making this.
Nice. I was thinking of what I could make epically large and thoroughly geeky and ended at this.
As for how long this has taken, I don't really know. I started like a month ago, and honestly I have probably spent at least 24 hours on it...likely more. Although a lot of that was the mining.
Ninja'd, I saw this about 20 min. before the first person posted this here. Absolutely amazing. I wish the best for both the OP and the classic version
You know, it's fairly common to see LOOK WUT I MAED threads about big castles and stuff. But true megabuild projects like this are way too rare. It might be slightly easier for someone to use hax, but if the OP actually pulled it off legit... So many internets have been won. Can't wait to see the completed Enterprise! And maybe a video of you walking in/around it would be awesome.
P.S. Creepers are the Warp Core Breach of space-faring Minecrafters.
