Way to describe savant, not Aspergers.
Aspergers Syndrome:
"an autism spectrum disorder that is characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction [As is Autism, it's 'father'-disorder], along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests"

Don't you love it when your point is proven in the same thread you posted your point in?

Hehe. I'm an aspie and I have great... -ish social skills but my memory SUCK. Could be that I have ADHD as well. I'm a linguistically placed person too so I should get exposed to more languages.

There's a huge difference between "Flipping out" and pointing out someone with misinformation.
> Hehe. I'm an aspie and I have great... -ish social skills but my memory SUCK
Memory isn't linked to Aspergers in any real form.
I am now completely convinced Asperger's Syndrome was invented, and is, indeed, an excuse used by man-children that cannot get over the fact that they are socially retarded due to their sodomized childhood years.
Thanks to you guys.

It has to do with the way some aspies see themselves compared to others. I have a friend that's like that though often he's misunderstood me in one way or the other. I have mostly gone from auto-correcting people towards auto-correcting myself.

Fighting ignorance and false information one post at a time.
For the record if I correct you it's not meant maliciously, but if you whine about it I AM laughing at you.
Asperger's Syndrome is extremely over-diagnosed, much like ADD/ADHD. As with a lot of psychiatric disorders, a lot of people self-diagnose incorrectly then proceed throw their diagnosis around willy-nilly. My brother suffers from Asperger's... or just a case of being a socially under-developed ass. I am technically diagnosed with ADD, but all it seems to mean for me is the way my attention works is just a little different.
As mentioned already in this thread, simply being obsessed with something doesn't make you autistic, an aspie, or any other psychological disorder. It just means you enjoy that activity a lot. The principal reason for the tired "Minecraft = autism" catchphrase is simple memetic propagation, in other words, it started as a joke and now everyone says it, and some start believing it.
When it comes right down to it, I feel the same thing would happen if you were given a box of Lego with an infinite supply of pieces, and then as much room as you need to build. It is highly addictive for the simple mechanics that allow you to slowly mold a raw world into a more ordered and structured form. Each wall, road and fortress you build brings it that much closer to a victory over the landscape. Just about anyone can get hooked, nothing special about someone who happens to be autistic playing the game.
It really started, from what I can tell, with the whole Aspergite incident... when the forums and wiki got flooded by trolls who discovered that calling Redstone Aspergite offended people. Then it was proliferated by trolls, and eventually adopted as a meme, sortof, by casual observers.
I think this ought to answer your question. It doesn't really have much to do with Alpha SP, though, and since we've already had some trolling in this thread, and answers were given, I'm going to lock it before it attracts any more troublemakers.
