Well for me it was one late night I ran out of my base to check out if any mobs were there and sure enough 3 creepers were headed my way. I hoped they wouldn't bomb my base but they did. Two of the creeper worked on breaking the front gate then the last one went to kill me. 3 hearts left I began to run from the creepers and I hit a from behind while facing another creeper.
I was trying to make the mob spawner in a dungeon into a monster harvesting trap, on peaceful. I went to go hide near the bottom of the trap, turned it to hard mode. Nothing was hapening, so I destroyed a block to get a better view, then a spider fell out of the sky, right past me, and hit me on the way down. It was sudden and I jumped.
Today i Generated a new map and settled next to a waterfall so i went out to find a cave to get some ores 5 miniutes of exploring i discovered a small cave with a dungeon on the surface so i went in killed 1 zombie and lighted up the place after taking the loot i thought about why waste wood building chests so i broke a chest then suddenly after i brake it a zombie pops out of it i jump out my chair like AGUUGUGUAUAUAAAHHH and start stabbing randomly with my 1 heart of health and run screaming back to my Mine
I was playing in peaceful, and reinstalled Minecraft....when I loaded up my map, I forgot it reset the settings, so I was peacefully building, and got glomped by a random spider D:
well, i was walking through a tunnel-cave, when i noticed a hole in the floor leading to some mobs in a small room.
i thought, "oh, ill just drop in, kill em and come back up"
it was actually a HUGE TUNNEL FULL OF MOBS, AT LEAST 20. i actually screamed.
(of course, this was when your save was ruined when you died)
I was standing in an underground tunnel trying to kill a spider that was fighting against an underground stream. But then it got out of reach so I used my pickaxe to remove some stone to get nearer. I removed the block in front of my feet first and then removed the one above and found a creeper on the other side that greeted me with a sssssssssss
Holy crap I almost had to change my pants!

It's happened to me a couple of times. Just spelunking, manicuring a cave and I knock a hanging block off the roof and a mob or two drops through. I just never expected it. The new mob sounds makes me more aware and expecting, except for creepers.
It all started one 2:50 AM night, where I had been spelunking for diamonds.
At the time, I was sleep deprived, not enough to make me collapse into sleep at any moment, but just enough to make me feel groggy and alert enough to play Minecraft competently.
So I'm delving through the caves, I'm low on torches, but I decide to keep going. Along the way I start hearing the ambient cave noise, including the train noise and that ghost wail one. I started to become paranoid, I started to see things that weren't there, feint objects in the distance, strange, ghostly faces in the corner of my vision that disappear the moment I look at them, and so I started walking faster and faster, frantically placing torches to illuminate my way, the more I progressed the worse my hallucinations became, eventually forgetting to collect the usual iron and coal deposits on the way. I ran out of torches and had to take down and re-use the ones in the path I left behind. And then I reached a dead end, it was a mine shaft that I could not tell how deep it was regardless of the torches I placed around it. Then I heard the banshee scream. It didn't come from the shaft, it came from behind me. My mind, frantic with thoughts of horrible screamer faces, I was hesitant to turn around, I thought if I did I would see some kind of horrible eldritch abomination, But I turned around regardless. It was a spider, it lunged at me, and knocked me down into the shaft where I fell to my death.
Scariest mother f*cking 5 minutes of Minecraft in my life.
So this one early morning I was bored and just digging tunnels in Minecraft. I had a nice little downward tunnel with stairs and tracks leading into this one dark cave that I'd closed off with an iron door.
Well the door was being stupid like they sometimes are- I put a stone floor-pad in front of it, but it refused to work right and instead opened without weight and closed with it.
I was getting freaked because this door was the only thing between a nice well-lit corridor and a dark, scary chasm of doom.
Frustrated, I decided to take a pickaxe to the door and replace it. It was taking so long, I was starting to get really scared when out of the corner of my eye I saw something moving...
I look up, and RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME is a :SSSS:. I literally screamed "OH HOLY SH**" and closed the game...
Woke my parents up, fun times! n.n
Was going through some new caverns and throwing down torches. I hear zombie sounds, but there's seven or so ways to get to me, five of which were dark.
Started going through each one little by little and throwing down torches so I could see him coming. Second to last little cave expedition? Damage to the back, he was right behind me the entire time.

My scarist moment? I haven't had many but this is, hand down, the best: I was peacefully mining out some cobblestone for my epic fortress (still in construction as of now) casually ignoring the cave sounds as usual when I come across a diamond vein. I think, "YAY! Diamonds!" I break out my iron pick and get about 6-8 diamonds out of it. I forget to cover up the (dark) gaping hole in my tunnel made by me mining out the diamonds. A creeper spawns and slowly walks toward me. A cave sound occurs when the five second creeper countdown begins, so I don't hear the SSSSSssssss noise. I turn arund to go back to my storage to store my cobblestone when I see the creeper and go, "OH S***!!" Then I got exploded on. I survived with one and a half hearts. I quickly covered up the creeper crater and the diamond veins spot of previous existance and head back to the main part of my base to heal up.
