I don't even get queasy playing FPS games but damn does Portal twist my mind.
It's unfortunate Minecraft does this to you, but I'm glad you're not letting it ruin your fun. Just be careful with what meds you take! Minecraft isn't worth screwing up your health!

Well, I tried lowering sensitivity... And all it does is make me have to flick my mouse more to get the camera where I want it to be. So, instead of one quick movement, it's several quick movements in a row. D'oh. :sad.gif: Worth a shot, though.
And... OH GOD, DESCENT. Do not speak to me of this horrible, vomit-inducing monstrosity. I'm 28, and owned Descent when it came out. I'm glad my brother could play without suffering the affliction like I do, or that game would never have left the shelf after the first 2 minutes of play.

Pssh, that's nothing. I've played minecraft so much, I have to punch stuff to use every day objects. Have you tried to make a bowl of cereal just by punching things?
I get motion sickness when I play Minecraft for 1-2 hours, so I chew mint gum when I start to feel nauseous and go study instead. I also stuck to playing a few minutes here and there, just to prevent it from happening.
Couple years back I started to get migraines, and they're real popular, with buddies like temporary partial blindness, numbness, and its latest and most annoying buddy, nausea. Mint gum helps with that nausea. I take a couple other prescription meds for migraines overall, but the gum is enough for the nausea ATM. Plus my motion sickness nausea is much milder than my migraine aura nausea.
I'm opposite b/c I cannot do almost all third person views, and I guess FP nausea is starting The one exception with third person are the flying levels in Spyro - I think it's the flying motion is "realistic" enough that my brain doesn't blue screen. Plus the poor thing already knows how to beat the levels, so it knows what to expect. I can't play the game at all anymore because in regular levels I'm out in seconds from my brain crying from no FP.
I'm gonna try that mouse sensitivity thing too. If you end up in a hospital, hopefully it's like the ones around me and it has free wireless.
I don't understand motion sickness, in fact, I don't even get dizzy. Seriously, you can spin me in circles for 20 minutes and I'll walk a straight line no problem.
What part of minecraft gives you motion sickness? Are you able to watch TV and movies?
People have been complaining about motion sickness in first person games since Doom came out. You aren't the only one.
I don't know how old you are, but if you're at least in your late teens, you probably once played a game from the Descent series.
If Minecraft made you queasy, then this game will make you projectile vomit all over your keyboard and monitor.
Oh jeez, i remember that game. That was absolutely horrid. I have a high tolerance to motion sickness and even i couldnt play it for long periods of time.

Diamonds of his
Were lost, with a hiss
There is a man who now fears the creeper

Motion sickness happens in two general scenarios:
1. The body feels movement, but does not see the environment move (like on a plane or boat).
2. The body sees the environment move, but does not feel movement (like an FPS, Minecraft, or some first-person films, like home video).
In some people, when those two inputs don't jive, the brain thinks it's because the body has been poisoned, and goes into bail-out mode and attempts to induce vomiting to get rid of it.
Stupid brain. Poison? Really? That's the first thing you think of?!
To answer the latter half of your questions... I can watch most TV, unless it's got that stupid "action shaky-cam" as if an epileptic man was running across a rocky landscape while filming. Then it's pukey. I also have to sit at the back of the theatre when I go to the movies, because sitting too close makes me queasy. IMAX movies are right out.

I already mentioned in this thread that going to 3rd person view doesn't work, because you can't accurately see what you're doing while in 3rd person view. I've tried it, and I can't work that way.

3rd person view with a transparent skin? Not sure if you can make them transparent but it's worth a try

You can't. Anything you try to make transparent with alpha values in the avatar .png comes out black in-game.
Plus, that would pretty much make it first person again. :tongue.gif:

Ah well worth a try, have you tried using a smoother Texture pack? The default texture pack is pretty cluttered but give it a try. If all else fails you could try standing up and jogging on the spot while your playing lol.

I get motion sickness from games like Halo and COD and stuff like that, but not from Minecraft for some reason. Maybe because those other games are more 'realistic'? Anyways, I've read somewhere that you can build tolerance so idk.
That stuff is nasty as hell.

Hmmmm or is it...
Tough decision. :\

This is the funniest thing I have ever read with my homeless man eyes.
