It can be, on a low-powered computer, with viewdistance set to far and fancy graphics, and with other memory-intensive programs running in the background.
However, framerate can also be improved. I've gotten mine from a stable 10-15 FPS up to 30+ now.
dont matter game not loading website down?
That's not the game lagging? That's not even lag?

I have 4Gb, running Win 7.
10Gb = mega overkill. Even for games like Crysis.

I only have 512 mb! Pretty bad I know.. :sad.gif: but I still run this game pretty well. So if your complaining about this game lagging after what I said to do, your comp sucks.
Well yeah that's true. But that's because the map is HUGE and there are TONS of blocks. It's a 3 Dimensional Matrix. I think it loads 16 blocks at a time in every direction
16x16x16 = 4096 blocks
Idk what the resolution is per block, but I'm just going to guess 128kb?
so 128Kb x 4096 = 524288Kb
Although it may not actually load all the textures if a block is hidden behind another. Either way, it's probably why Notch won't update the texture resolution. Or at least not yet.
Matrices take up large amounts of space that's the point. Even so, not the laggiest game ever. I lag way more on Crysis than this. Way more.

In before we find out that it's an integrated Nvidia graphics card and single core processor from 1998.
Seriously, I have a budget PC that I built 6 years ago and it runs Minecraft flawlessly on max render distance and "fancy graphics". The whole thing cost me less than $600 in 2004 (including peripherals).

Oh god, you're hilarious. I logged in to my neglected forums account just to tell you how stupid you are. I have 1GB of ram, and I get 50FPS! Using fast graphics and tiny fog helps a lot.
Also, as one of the above posters said, it's not about the graphics, it's about gameplay.
Precisely.

Brad, what type of video card do you have?
Because I hear the GeForce 9500 isn't working well with the latest update. That might be your problem.

Do you have a ton of crap running in the background? My computer is 5 years old and runs it well enough. On fast graphics with normal render distance, I average between 15-25 FPS depending on what I'm doing. Chunk creating is a problem, though. I usually have to flick render distance down when I'm exploring
I think I have a laptop from around that same time, except 2gigs of RAM.
I haven't tried running Minecraft on it, but I'm rather certain gameplay would blow.
I wouldn't advise using a laptop for this game, especially one so old :l
Old desktops? Probably fine.
Old laptops? Rather outdated.
Newer laptops should be okay as they're beginning to branch away from CPU integrated graphics.
To be honest, I never thought 1 gigabyte of RAM would be enough. Maybe it is if you have a well working GPU.

Nvidia 6200, AMD athlon 2.2 clock (single core), 2G ram (400mhz)
I'm unable to. That doesn't necessarily mean it's down, but it's likely.
