Why do people keep arrows in their hotbar? The bow will shoot them from your inventory. . .
The only reason I can think of is to keep track of arrow usage.
That is the precise reason. If I come across several skeletons, I do not want to get in to a battle with them if I have less than around 20 arrows. I might still do something about them, but I will be more careful to ensure that every shot counts. And if I have less than 10 arrows, I will be very careful, and plan to make more arrows.
You do not want to shoot a skeleton and find you have no more arrows left. Knowing ho many arrows you have left allows you to strategize more effectively.

i usually have 3 stacks of arrows in my inventory, so i just spray arrows everywhere haha! it works because you get back the ones that don't do damage anyway. I recommend making a mob farm, or just a small trap if you find a skelly spawner, if you're always running out of arrows.

Having an automatic arrow spawner is okay, but it's limiting because you cannot then remain on the move. Once you depend on such things you're end up becoming stuck there always in the same place. Meanwhile there's a near-infinite world to explore.

well, if you make a good mob farm you don't have to stay there very long. I plant myself there, go do something IRL for a half hour, come back and i've got 12 stacks of arrows. then i can go explore the near-infinite world with plenty of ammo for the rest of the evening :smile.gif:
Depends on what I'm doing... mining: usually 3 pick axes (stone), 2 shovels (stone), torches, and either a bow or a sword on my hotbar. Exploring or exterior work: 1 ax (stone), 2 shovels (stone), torches, a pile of dirt or stone, and my bow or sword.
Haven't made a compass yet, but probably help in figuring where I am. :happy.gif:;

My local server admin deleted chunks, exposing the void. We call it voidtown :tongue.gif:
