Is it normal if i get some lag in FAr view and almost non in normal but random mini jitters ?
This is what im running on.
Proccesser 3.06GHz Intel Core i3
Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphic card: ATI Radeon HD 4670
Just need to know if i should have lag or not, and if not then is there anyway to speed it up with out going under normal for site. It makes the game hard to play and for the most part it runs perfect , but i don't understand why its lagging if i basically only run MC by it self
Ps: im on a iMac sooo all those pc booster solutions don't apply.
Side Add: Also anyone else have weird shadows for there stuff? like bigs or chickens or mobs have these weird circles shadows and items too i don't understand why it looks like circles but just thought i mention that too its just random.
TRuthfully i pretty much go in minecraft zone when playing so i don't even bother having aim (ichat) or safari open, but if anything thats the only 2 id ever have open less then half the time playing.
It just seems super lame that all this power i got and i cant run one game alone at perfect speed.
It could just be a stunt, open terminal when minecraft is open and type in top and hit enter then look for minecraft to appear, how much cpu usage is it using?
I don't know if this applies in your situation, but...
I've recently started to get lots of program jitters and frame rate loss myself. All of it started, as far as I can tell, after I applied the new HD Patch. I don't know whether something else occurred at the same time or if there is something that freaks out the game by using the new patcher, but I switched out to a regular 16x16 texture pack and have yet to see the same stutters.
Far: can move around runs smooth but im getting Jitter not all the time but quite often, often enough to make me want to stay in normal
Normal: Basically runs smooth as butter, maybe a random Jitter once and a random while.
Anything Below: Flawless
Well No luck on optimizing the game but i find that when i play in full screen im maxed out at 60 fps even though settings are set to no limit. When i play in the browser or in the size the browser is by default i can easily hit anything above 100 ranging to a max of 160. This makes the game have enough room for any hiccups when turning and loading a posed to being maxed at 60 and jittering down to 30 or 20 causing lag.....really not sure why this is all happening but maybe it has to do with my 1920 x 1080 Resolution display(on a iMac 21") and thats where its at when its full screen for the most part, aside from dock room and the top bar.I guess im really out of luck on less the game is optimized in its own program. wish i could hit anything higher then 60 in full screen though... and i guess i can live with normal but its unsettling having lag when clearly my computer can handle the game.
I have an extremely loud HDD, and I find I have stutters on Far view.
Whenever it stutters, I can hear the HDD seeking, so I'm assuming it may be down to drive speed, or some other functionality in the operating system, like indexing (search), which is causing it.
The reason it could be having those issues is because the chunk data is scattered on the disk. Try defragging.

Coincidence, maybe, but maybe not.

Not sure what this means but yeah seems like anything else is basically using nothing
