Anyone notice that levers flip when arrows hit them?
(Yes, I used search, I only got 4 topics, Mostly about using arrows to show which direction levers are facing.)
If anyone hasnt noticed yet...
Imagine putting an iron door on the side of a mountain, And a lever on the side of a floating island, And the iron door leads to diamonds...
Or a "Guess the lever" trap, Where if you shoot the wrong lever, The door behind you closes, And TNT falls on you.
I'll try redstone torches, Pressure plates, And doors next.
REDSTONE TORCHES: FAIL ( Arrow goes through torch )
PRESSURE PLATE: ? (The arrow and pressure plate was a fail, However i also found out that if you stand on a pressure plate, Then fire an arrow into it, It'll keep the pressure plate down, Like a lever.)
BUTTONS: FAIL ( Does not trigger)
STONE PRESSURE PLATES: FAIL (Does not keep the plate down)
WOODEN PRESSURE PLATES: SUCSESS (Will keep the pressure plate down, If you stand on it first)
<Khusa> the creepers are baby dragons
<Gunmage> Instead of spitting out fire they hold it in until they burst like balloons
<Lisimba> So if you would give a creeper a laxative, would it turn into a real dragon?
Interesting how an arrow can keep a plate held down. Do arrows vanish after 5 minutes like drops?

Fracking awesome! First thing that comes to mind knowing this is a room with a small pit and a missing walkway across which is a door and a lever. You of course would not be able to find arrows/bow so easliy and would need to adventure elsewhere before being able to pass this obstacle. Upon hitting the lever it would open a door (or 2), drop a torch that was holding up the sand blocks, that would be needed to drop down to create the walkway in order to get across...
I apologize for my horrid grammar and pray that this makes any sense to any humans that may be reading the previous thoughts.....
So wait... let me recap: arrow can be used to activate levers! This has ton and tons of possibilities, let alone a reason to practice marksmanship in a moving minecart.
The arrows from a skeleton can also do the above. I made a thread about it a while ago. Wooden pressure plates are affected by this, not stone if I recall ;o
I can't manage to pull existing levers with my arrows, you might have been close enough to accidentally hit the lever with your bow, when shooting the arrows.
So, has anyone tested to confirm or deny fired arrows being able to toggle levers?

But I too have to test this all out.
No, arrows can not. I've tested it, shot a lever from multiple angles, and the only way I got the lever to work, was by standing in melee range (Thus hitting the lever with my bow, not the arrow)
Sadly, I figured that is what you had stated in your orginal post. Thanks for clearifying.
At the very least, the arrow toggling a lever should be implemented. It would be pretty damn simple (as far as my incredibly limited programming knowledge goes) and have some really awesome implications.

Same here... can someone record it. <_<

Aww, crud. No cool minecart chases and stuff.
Anywho, thanks for the clarification.
