While looking for a winter map, I stumbled upon one desert of a beach. Wandering towards a cactus, I find a curious pit shaped perfectly like a square. I dug it out, and sure enough,
Had a saddle and golden apple, but this isn't another dumb thread about amazing dungeon discoveries. Notice the Mob Spawner; it has nothing in it. I waited until night, and it did not spawn anything, but every minute or so it'd spawn dust particles. What the hell is this glitched spawner?
Oh, I was on Peaceful the entire time, I noticed after falling off a cliff on another map. Turns out it is a Skeleton Spawner. But anyway, its still strange how it didn't render inside.

if a dungeon is created under it beach the sand collapsed on it, creating a sand filled dungeon

In the context of this thread, I can't see how what he said has anything to do with sand falling, or why I should trust him without further explanation. He implies that this error only happens with beach dungeons. I've seen it elsewhere, and would like to know his reasons for thinking such a thing.
You also say it's a bug notch has to fix. This is obvious enough, but I'm not sure if that's valid reasoning for saying, "nope". Have you seen such a bug in game? Did changing the difficulty fail to render a monster?

Not being mean, just want elaboration.
You cannot see whats inside the cage because of a bug, that notch has yet to fix...

There's a bug, mobs in cages don't render, that's why you can't see the mob craww. Changing the difficulty does not make it magically show up, hence how that answers your question. Every spawner I've seen on a beach has covered itself in sand and not spawned anything until it's dug out, that's the glitch he was talking about, not the monster being invisible, trust him.
I know why I can't see the mob. I know. Okay? I understand this. I heard that the bug only occurred on peaceful mode, and it made sense to me because monsters don't spawn on peaceful mode. I wanted to know if switching the difficulty, which would make the monsters spawn again, would also render the mob in the cage again. If this doesn't happen, if you can confirm that this doesn't happen, then fine. Just know that there's nothing "magic" about my assumptions either way.
So far besides you, all I've got is, "Nope! It's a bug!" Like "It's a bug" is supposed to somehow explain why that wouldn't happen in the place of an actual eyewitness account.
Have you seen it? Have you seen an empty spawner in the game, switched the difficulty, and still saw it as empty? This is what I'm asking of the OP, and everyone else has answered in an unsatisfactory manner. All I want to know is if you've seen it.
As for the glitchy beach spawner post, if that is what he meant, then it has little relevance to the thread and my need for an explanation was more than appropriate.
I'll just pop in and confirm that spawners do not have mob models inside them on Normal either. Been playing on Normal, found two spawners so far, nothing inside them. One spawns Skeletons, the other spawns Spiders.
All I needed. Thanks a ton, bro.
If it happens on normal, do we know that this is a glitch at all? Did Notch say that he didn't intend to remove the small mobs from the spawners? What if it was intentional?

I was thinking this today. I stumbled upon a mob spawner while playing on peaceful and saw no mob in it, and figured it was because I was on peaceful. Today I was playing on easy and normal (Off and on) and found another mob spawner just a chunk or two away from the other one that seemed to be spawning zombies(I heard them and fought a few), but when I finally got up to it, there were no zombies and there wasn't a model inside the spawner. My conclusion ended that maybe the model was taken out in a patch, or maybe the models not showing is just a bug. Or maybe, I just have rotten luck -.-

I openly welcome any and all criticism, advice and discussion. I just ask for the same in return. Trolls will be dealt with.

maybe this??
No, I'm on Easy so I can fight mobs more than several times each night.
Did it render after you changed the difficulty?
Why?
Nope, Its just a bug notch has yet to fix

How does this answer my questions?
