Thus if you were to increase the mass of an object you would increase the amount of energy generated, capiche?
Well how about this equation...
M = E / (X * C)^2 where X is an acceleration factor of the light particles.
In this way, you can decrease the mass of an object exponentially by increasing the speed of light.
The practical upshot of this is that you can send an object of any mass hurtling through space / time at tremendous speeds.
But how through time you say?
Well, you see, in the vacuum of space the relative time is different then our own here on earth and can be curved and twisted based on a formula.
But how do you get there, because obviously you would have to reach that space nearly instantly in order for this theory to be sound... how about you bounce that beam off some comets? Simple.
Now there remains just one obstacle before we all can go hurtling through time and space... increasing the speed of light.
I figured out HOW to use it, now it's up to you to figure out how to increase the speed of light.
Minecraft obviously has space because there is the sun and moon... so using this principle you could go back to that point in time and space before you fell into that lava while mining diamonds.
whoa, you cant just say that you can time travel, but not tell anyone to do it,
1. it will annoy people
2. people may think your lying
3. it would just be stupid, like if i post a thread saying "I know how to make new monsters ingame in minecraft! but i'm not telling you!"
and "A" if your going to make an account just to post, make it a good one please.
No no no my dear fellow... I figured out HOW to travel through time and space PROVIDED that we could accelerate the particles of light... now It's all about figuring out how to accelerate the particles of light.

Farnsworth: These are the dark matter engine I invented. They allow my starship to travel between galaxies in mere hours.
Cubert: That's impossible. You can't go faster than the speed of light.
Farnsworth: Of course not. That's why scientists increased the speed of light in 2208.
GOOD NEWS!! We just gotta wait about 200 years. :biggrin.gif:
Sure, just restore the backup and travel back in MC Time. Works great. As for the physics: There's a LOT missing to even consider a time machine in MC. Sure there are some constants needed but there's a lot missing and I guess this won't be possible ever. As does time travel in RL but thats a whole other discussion ...
You wouldn't necessarily need to increase the speed of light. Unknown to most, the speed of light is theoretically not the speed limit of the universe. It is actually the speed barrier. What this means, is that if something goes slower than the speed of light, it cannot move faster, once the speed of light is reached, no more energy will be created that will be used towards making the object go faster.
However, there is a theoretical particle known as a taceon which goes faster than the speed of light, but cannot go slower. So if they do exist, and they can be harnessed, then your idea has some sort of legitemacy.
Also, time travel is technically possible, but only forwards in time. You see, when you get closer and closer to the speed of light - since light is a constant, time begins to slow down, and when traveling at the speed of light, time stands still. Now, if a spaceship were able to travel at near the speed of light for a long time (which is very, very hard, mind you,) the spaceship will be moving essentially through time, and when that spaceship returns to Earth, the citizens and Earth itself will have aged normally, while those on the spaceship will barely have aged at all. By traveling at the speed of light for long enough, Earth will continue on and age, while you and the spaceship don't, or at least not as quickly.
Boom, physics knowledge

Haha, I just read that. But to correct your statement. The Planet Express ship essentially moved the fabric of space-time. This basically means that the spaceship never moved, everything around it moved. So technically the spaceship wasn't travelling faster than the speed of light.
You can't change the speed of light. Its constant throughout our universe. Also, changing the mass doesnt generate energy. This just describes the INCREASE in mass due to Mass/Energy relationshipss.
THE **** YOU CAN'T!
I won't be hindered by the torrent of nay-sayers that nay-say anything that gets in the way of their nice little boxy universe that never advances.
I'm moving forward at, you might just say, greater then light speed.

Unfortunately, anyone inside the ship will be bludgeoned by the sparse Hydrogen molecules floating around in space which although have a relatively low density, will feel like a freaking smg to anyone traveling anywhere close to the speed of light due to the particles ran into per second.

is this just a cryptic way for you to complain about how light propagates in game? i kind of like how it slowly moves across the landscape.
or do you want to speed up the day/night cycle? just the night?

No, I actually like pretty much everything about this game... except right now the compass has me torn as to whether I should make a base at my spawn or just forget about the compass entirely.... I have a compass on my keychain in real life and I know how to navigate (aircraft) and do land-nav (on land) and can even manage a bit of sea navigation and I'm great w/ maps and such.... so being able to navigate for me is... basically what I know how to do.

If time travel is possible, it's already been done. Why don't we know about it? Couldn't someone from the year 4500 come back and tell us? haha
I don't get what this has to do with Minecraft but it's interesting. If we get into time travel thought the argument will never end because it can get DEEP haha.

Seriously, that is what it is called, gonna be awesome.
For as long as the grass grows
For as long as the stream flows
And the sun shines down unto us
Only they who walk the clouds know
For how long the winds blow
And the sky is blue above us
E = MC^2
